One of my heroes died today Bert trautmann, my Grandad saw him play and loved him.
He was a German prisoner of war and after the was stayed in the UK and played for City for over 500 games.
He may be best remembered for playing the final 17 minutes of City's Cup final win against Birmingham City with a broken neck.
Even though I am a big Aston Villa fan my dad always talked about Bert Trautmann and how he managed to keep goal with a broken neck during the FA Cup
final. That's when footballers were proper footballers, not like the overpaid bunch of women that are playing today.............
