That thing died in pain! It is oh so evident in the pics!

School holidays brought on reminiscent lulz !?

It looks like an oxygen deprived Timon ! FGS!
Where on earth is Pumba when you need him !!

Looks like biltong! Really really dry biltong.

Probably a monkey that's been left in the salty sea for too long.

Thought baboon seeing as its Cape Town but teeth don't match.

That or its a hoax

Its been posted to a couple of forums from what I can see but no one has come up with a plausible answer. Guess we'll have to wait.

Well, I am not sure about this thing. Trouble is, I cannot see any evidence of a ribcage, or indeed any analogous feature. If it was a monkey, I would expect to see a sternum of some sort, and ribs, and there just arent any.

Very strange, very cool looking wierd corpse.

Has this thing been actually identified yet? I'm sure it's not some unknown species but I'll go with a decomposing monkey for now....

I agree, monkey that drowned and got left in salt water too long and body twisted by tide. SOLVED!

This cant be a monkey.. if you make this creature bigger, its body structure would be to long to fit with the body structure of an ape, weather decomposed or not. could possible be one of our ancestors for all we know, who got was burnt to death and later thrown into the ocean

I am just going to throw this in there but perhaps it is a shrunken animal? If this were the case the overall proportions may be misleading. Maybe in combination this the water damage the elongated shape occurs, this is a long shot but worth mentioning.

A stab in the dark here but as an animal lover I can see what looks like a starved dead cat, except for the teeth. Just read through the other posts sorry I believe it is a baboon as they point out.

Very strange.
I suppose a monkey is about the closest to what it could be

I don't think it' a sea creature

I thought that too, but monkeys have very long torsos, so I thought that long part, bottom half is the stretched out torso and the legs are either missing or not showing in the picture. Or only one leg remains. Looks like it smashed its face onto something. The teeth or upper jaw is cracked and dislodged.
It has the bulging eyelids, teeth and hands of a primate.

it does seem to have a monkey head, albeit a shrivelled one. What i don't get:when a body has been in water, its normally grotesquely bloated-this creature seems dried up like a sinew-biltong,you know,VVV? just very odd,the body of it.
