NEWS: Idaho Residents Seek Compensation for Nuclear Tests

In light of the compensations trials of the Japanese, Idaho residents have chosen to follow the example of the Japanese to exercise their right to challenge the faults of U.S. government in history and compensate their sufferings with monetary rewards.



U.S., in an effort to surpass the U.S.S.R. during the cold war, did extreme measures to produce bigger, deadlier nuclear weapons. One of these measures included testing their weapons (showing off too). But these tests didn't always go according to plans and stay out of reach of nearby citizens.

The radiation resulting from the series of 90 above-ground tests from 1951 to 1962 affected citizens of nearby land including the citizens of Idaho.

Even though above ground nuclear testing has been long gone, the effects of radiation it produced have not. They have popped up time from time in form of cancer resulting from extreme radiation.

Citizens of Idaho have taken their troubles to court requesting monetary compensation fro the lack of interest in the life of people the government shown during the Cold War, which resulted from insecure nuclear testing techniques.

While I doubt the entire motive was monetary, I can't stop wondering if it is monetary.
