Before anyone gets all uppity about superstition and which societies are more subject to it or not, I'd think a little reflection on the hysterias we westerners sometimes embrace might be in order, such as the runs on Wally World sales on Black Friday

Which is more valid to act crazy over: a ghost or a really hot sale price?

So... let me get this straight. A factory worker in Bangledesh believes that her sickness was something to do with a ill natured spiritual invasion, rather than the fact that factories in Bangledesh have no health and saftey in mind what so ever, an ethos which extends to the entire structure of the building, which one would assume includes the sanitation of the toilet she was in at the time.

Good call. Chances are its some horrible arse rot related to the condition of the toilets!

Maybe it did something like this with a ...ahem... full load?

The answer is actually C, something actually relevant and important

Sales or ghosts, either is just as pathetic as the other. One is based in superstition, and the other is based in mindless greed and consumerism. Take your pick, both are worthy of disdain.

There are a lot of cultural differences between the west and the rest of the planet, this is not exactly a surprise.

Maybe if ghosts appear in American toilets it will cause civil unrest, eh? Nothing else does
