well i am alive now, and i am not in pain!

i could easily live without pain!

but i have a crumbling spine, so im in pain 24/7

you learn to live with it after 17yrs, and lots and lots of pain-killers as well

No, There's no way you can live without pain, too many people in this life hurt you mentally.

You don't always have to experience physical pain, i.e cutting your finger, the other pain (see above) is much much worse.....

Others may not realise how or why they are treating you in this way, but it doesn't stop the pain.

yes "vertex" crumbling spine, the bones that make up my spine are very slowly going, and they left it too late before they would operate.

What's up with these phony subjects? any ways the only way you live with out pain is to mes remove your medulla oblangata lol i don't know if that is spelled correctly.

Pain is transient, just like happiness, pleasure and all emotions. By accepting that pain, in its lack of pemanence is nonexistant, you can ignore it. I do not suggest that you should ignore happiness or pleasure, just that it is possible to ignore the temporary feelings your mind gives you by accepting that they will soon be gone. By ignoring pain you can, say, put out a cigarette in your arm.

And Data, you dont need a seperate thread to verify your avatar. There is a nice big android staring at you on the home page of ATS.

xaos, you image reminds me of an article published in Hustler back during the Viet Nam war. Seems that Larry Flint was upset because a lot of people were calling Hustler magazine obscene (but not Playboy). He published a series of photo's of victims of the war in Viet Nam. None of the photo's appeared in any of the US publications. All of them were worse than the one you reference. Flint's message: War is Obscene. The most poignant picture from the Viet Nam war was one of a naked little girl standing on a road crying because her mother had just been killed by a bombing.
