First of all, Nice Post MountainStar! You state your opinion and yet do not let it cloud your judgement when identifying the facts about the
situation and what methods
do & do not work with that situation.
Now, here is some more info about this topic for us all to discuss & reflect upon. Let's start by examining some of the details:
Prostitution is the sale of sexual services for money or other kind of return, generally indiscriminately with many persons. A person selling
sexual favors is a prostitute, a type of sex worker. In a more general sense of the word, anyone selling their services for a cause thought to be
unworthy can be described as prostituting themselves.
The term prostitution is sometimes used in the more general meaning of having sex in order to achieve a certain goal different from procreation or
pleasure. This includes forms of
religious prostitution in which sex is practiced in compliance with religious precepts. Prostitution in this
broader sense is also used in
espionage. Arguably, it
frequently occurs in normal marriages as well. (Well it seems that my opinion
that there is a hypocritical 'Do as I say, not as I do' facade wasn't too far off course! Let's examine these a bit closer.)
Religious prostitution, is the practice of having religiously motivated sexual relationships. Versions of this have ranged from Religious Cult
Practices, to Upper-Caste Concubine's and Deity/Goddess Worship. One fairly recent group who used prostitution as an instrument to make new adepts.
Among them was the Children of God/The Family & now The Family International. In the 1990s numerous allegations of pedophilia and sexual abuse were
laid against The Family in different locations worldwide.

Who is the Victim & Criminal?? Is it a Willing Choice??
In many countries,
illegal immigrants work in prostitution, sometimes against their will and generally in circumstances such that they feel
they have no other choice. Often these prostitutes are
kept in financial debt by the brothel owners, who charge them for their travel and other
costs. The arrangement may be such that the prostitutes
can never earn enough to pay off the debt. The term used for forcing people into
prostitution is "sexual slavery".
The relationship between pimp and prostitute is often abusive.
In areas where legal restrictions on prostitution are greatest, the power of pimps
over prostitutes can actually be increased by the illegality of prostitution. In reality prostitutes are often at more risk from the pimps
themselves. Pimps often target vulnerable women and young girls who have run away from home.
Street Prostitution is the lowest-paid, least respected, and most dangerous form of prostitution and are viewed as expendable by most societies.
Street prostitutes are also
often too illiterate to get or keep traditional employment. The current trend in sentencing prostitutes is to try
to educate them while they're in prison. Unfortunately,
because they are in prison, they will then have a criminal record and thus have a
difficult time getting anything but the lowest-paying jobs.
They tend to die within a few years of joining the streets.
The most common cause of death for a street prostitute is intentional (a.k.a. suicidal)
or accidental drug overdose. Second most common cause of death is disease and poor health. Third is murder.
Now some Dysfunctional Laws and Legal Hypocrisy
The basic act of exchanging money for sex among adults is legal in most countries. However, it is illegal in the United States (except for ten
counties in the state of Nevada), India, some Muslim and various Communist countries. In most countries where prostitution is illegal, at least some
forms of it are tolerated. It has been alleged that this situation allows the police to extort money or services from prostitutes in exchange for
"looking the other way".
Societies have chosen to regulate it in ways that reduce the more undesirable consequences.
Goals of such regulations include controlling sexually
transmitted disease, reducing sexual slavery and controlling where brothels may operate.
In the United States, the only political party that favors legalization of prostitution is the United States Libertarian Party. The USLP believes all
consensual crimes (any act that is against the law where all parties involved voluntarily consent to engage in the activity) should be eliminated.
(Hey, isn't this the party that was basically suppressed by all media as well as being ignored and forced into limbo by both major political
parties and their corp. pimps??? Just one more tiny clue of a conspiracy maybe???)
Originally, prostitution was widely legal in the United States. Prostitution was made illegal in almost all states between 1910 and 1915 largely due
to the influence of the Women's Christian Temperance Union which was influential in the banning of drug use and was a major force in the prohibition
of alcohol. In 1917 the legally defined prostitution district Storyville in New Orleans was closed down by the Federal government over local
objections.
Majority Opposed??? Morality??? HYPOCRITES & CORP. PROFITS!!!
The sex industry is the industry formed of commercial enterprises which employ sex workers. What they offer is called adult entertainment. The
sex industry represents a large portion of the world's economy, and has been credited with driving technological advances in popular media, such as
the home video and live streaming video on the Internet.
In the case California v. Freeman, the California Supreme Court ruled that adult film
makers could not be prosecuted under state laws against prostitution.
A sex worker is anyone who earns their living by providing sexual services. Some use this term to mean only prostitution, although the term is
also used by others to refer to other workers in the sex industry such as erotic actors and nude models for pornography, striptease dancers and
performers in peep shows, waitstaff in sexually-oriented businesses, live sex show workers, professional dominants, providers of erotic massage and
phone sex workers.
Illegal sex tourism with under-age boys and girls has become a notorious problem in Costa Rica and Thailand. Meanwhile a
legal and
consensual sex industry often makes a significant contribution to local economies. The Hamburg Reeperbahn is a licensed and taxed prostitution
zone serving tourists from all over the world, whilst the sex industry has also tended to thrive around military bases.
In the present day young
Korean women in the Itaewon district of Seoul receive money for satisfying the sexual needs of both American and South Korean soldiers.
(Atleast some people out there give it there all when it comes to 'Supporting the Troops!!')
There is so much more but this post is so long as it is that most will probably skip right over it, so I'll stop here, give ya some links and let you
reflect upon what runs through your mind. Hope to hear some comments from you!!
