Cat Caught Smuggling Cell Phones Into Russian Prison

The Russian prison service said Monday it had caught a cat being used as a courier to smuggle banned cell phones and chargers into a prison camp in the country's remote far north. The prison service in the Komi region said on its website that the cat was detained Friday evening as it climbed the fence of the region's Number One corrective labour camp with two cell phones, batteries and chargers strapped to its back using tape.
I thought this was kinda funny. I'm sure there have been plenty other cases of people getting animals to smuggle contraband but this cat seems pretty smart except for the getting caught part.

This brings to mind all kinds of responses...

First...somebody trained a cat? How do you train a cat at all? Much less train it to enter a
building it has never been in and find arrive at a destination it has never seen?

Second...how do tape anything to cat without it going bonkers? I can put a piece of scotch tape
on m cat's tail and it goes nuts. (i know it's kinda cruel, sorry, I always take it off....and besides
its not nearly as much fun as rubbing a finger-full of peanut butter on the roof of your dogs mouth--
that is hilarious)

Third...why cell phones? That's not contraband. How about a set of lock picks or something useful

Hi Rival,

Please don't let PETA know about the cat tape or the peanut butter. They will target anything and everything and who knows? You might go out your front door and discover a bunch from the Westboro Baptist Church. I see your humor in one way and am a little surprised you admitted to it here. Oh well to each their own but I just hope the ATS bunch doesn't target you. My best,

Well, the peanut butter thing can't be that cruel because the dogs come back for more every time.
They even look disappointed when you put the jar away.

The cat thing? I have a cat that I can place on its back, on our smooth linoleum floor, and it will
let me me slide him (with a push) over fifteen feet away...then he will lay there for a second....get up.
come back over to me, lay down in front of me, and let me do it again...over and over and over...like a
dog fetching a ball.

I'm not cruel to animals, but I'm no hypocrite either. I realize "Happy Meals" don't come from
happy cows, and the eggs I eat weren't "donated" by any philanthropic local chickens.

Any member of Peta who is a strict vegetarian and uses NO animal products has my blessing,
my support for their cause, and my respect for their principled beliefs.

But any PETA members who DO eat meat or use animal products can kiss my...

Someone was using a whole litter of cat smugglers!
In my opinion, they could have made it to the drop point, and gotten out of there better.
