Tagging Members in Posts

I'm not quite sure how the tag function works in Facebook, but I wish we could have something similar here. Type a member's name into a special cage on the Post A Reply page, and that member is sent a message calling attention to that post when he or she logs on. It would be a nice thing to have.

I'm not familiar with the facebook feature you mention, but can't what you suggest be done with a PM?
And I'm guessing your idea is to make the process a little easier than creating the PM?

What id like to see is a "show reply's to this post" option.

It could be as easy as integrating the alert system we already have in place for u2u's with a predefined command (hashtags are the standard).

Someone adds #MichaelPMaccabee in a post, or a post response, and I get a u2u telling me that I was tagged in the thread.

Code could -probably- be done in less than 40 lines.

Have long asked for such a feature.

has the greatest, leanest, cleanest set of clickable items like that.

And their COMMENTS page lists all the replies to all of one's posts with the most recent first.

You can also click forewards & backwards through the replied post numbers in a sequence.

oh no , i know about that, that's to get to reply's to my own posts.

What i mean is, if im reading through a thread and come across someones post, id like to see all of the replies to their post.

like this added to the drop down menu.
