I am going to go ahead and quote the Mahabarata for you, although I am sure you are familiar with this passage and are simply being disingenuous.

An incandescent column of smoke and flame, as bright as ten thousand suns, rose with all its splendour.

It was an unknown weapon, an iron thunderbolt, a gigantic messenger of death, which reduced to ashes the entire race of the Vrishnis and the Andhakas.

The corpses were so burned as to be unrecognizable.

Hair and nails fell out; Pottery broke without apparent cause, and the birds turned white.

…After a few hours all foodstuffs were infected… …to escape from this fire the soldiers threw themselves in streams to wash themselves and their equipment.”

ETA: while I am not saying this was definitely a nuclear blast, the passage DOES describe, in pretty vivid detail, things people often associate with radiation poisoning. The point is, that was a crummy refutation. It was like a one line dismissal. Poor form.

Sorry Jay, but you've been misled. That's not from the Mahabharata.

In fact, it is a fabrication of David Hatcher Childress and actually only his own embellishment of a similarly fraudulent "quote" from the Mahabharata originally foisted on the public by Charles Berlitz, well known fraudster and prevaricator.

You can find all this info right here on ATS, as it's been posted hundreds of times (which causes my remarks on it to be quite curt.) In fact, one poster here tracked down the lines in the Mahabharata that Berlitz was altering with his original quote. I don't recall the poster, but it was around four or five years ago. Alas, I've been through two harddrives since than and no longer have a link.

I do recall, however, that one part of the epic which is similar to part of the Berlitz quote tells of rats eating the fingernails of sleeping people, pots cracking for no reason (there'd be a reason if there were some atomic blast, right?) and various and sundry other plagues (other than rats, frogs comes to mind) that the weapon in that particular scene caused.

It was a magical weapon that was made to cause plagues, not a nuclear weapon.

The long-ago post actually cited the book and line numbers, which was quite a handy thing, given the extensive length of that Hindu epic. You can read the Mahabharata yourself right here. If all you're looking for is confirmation of your quote or my assertion about it, then I wouldn't recommend reading it. It's really long and quite difficult to keep track of.

If you go to search for info here at ATS about this, I recommend Google with "site:abovetopsecret.com" attached at the end of your keywords. Works better for me that the search function here.

If, on the other hand, you're lazy like me, you can read about it here. The pertinant (and real) verses are listed there.

Ok, that's more like it.

Thanks for that.

I can see hiw this would be irritating considering the above.
I read Jason Colavito's rebuke (of course I took the lazy route
)

I would like to verify this for myself, but I feel that may take quite some effort that I cannot afford at the moment. So I will take you at your word. Thanks again.

ETA: you forgot to mention Von Daniken had a role in this as well. Figures.

Maybe I'm not always right, Jay, but you can trust that if I chime in on anything concerning the ancient world, I've at least done some research on what I'm talking about.

Used to, I'd look everything up and link to it. I stopped doing so much of that because claimants don't do it. I came to see it as a way for the woo woo gang to manipulate me into doing work. Like you, apparently, I'm not overly fond of work.

So now I just state what I know. Obviously, without checking, I can sometimes misremember what I "know."

But I wouldn't purposefully mislead anyone at any forum. Maybe in person, okay, just for a laugh, but not on a forum where I have to communicate with the written word.

Regarding EVD, his grubby little fingers are all over most outrageous claims about antiquity. In this case, he merely mentioned this story whereas Childress dressed it up in new finery and escorted it to the debutante's ball.

Well, apparently Childress used EVD as a source because he copied one of his errors.
In any event, pretty much anytime that name comes up one of these is necesary.

Humans are just a low-level being of this universe. Alien is higher than us.

apparently the moon doesnt conform to physics it doesn't appear to be caught in the twisting of space time, as described by Einstein. A theory in which Gravity Probe B supposivly vindicated.

I've done the math on each of the planetary bodies, including their satellites, this year in my AP Physics class and I can assure you the moon follows the laws of physics.
