So!!
Less than one month after the "revolutionary icelanders" voted the same guys that put the country into the crisis 4 years ago... (wait for it, you
gotta love it!) today this fantastic government has just decided to remove (mode/delete:ON for the geeks) the Ministry of the Environment.
As my friend Hrönn said: "When all other countries in the world are realising that environmental issues are THE big topic of the future and climate
change is finally gaining the attention of the global society and media (and even the World Bank!), Iceland says [snip] you Earth, [snip]you nature,
[snip] you sustainability and environmental responsibility. Back to business as usual. Bring on the oil drilling, bring on the mindless chase for
growth as an end in itself, regardless of whether it's based on completely unsustainable and unjustifiable use of the Earth's sources and sinks. Bring
it on."
pfffffff but I'm really scared this country is gonna become such a environmental mess with all the tourist and industry development in this fragile
eco-system... [snip]
I'm not that sure that the others countries finally understood how important is to protect environment and change our way to consume. Le Monde.fr one
of the bigger french media platform deleted the "environment section" of his website few weeks ago as the New York Time did with his newspaper. "Poor
readers, this is the crisis, we can't borrow them with environment. There is such more important issues"
Just wait for the big environmental issues...
