It put things into perspective for me a little. A reminder that life is short, and that we need to cherish our friends, because they could be gone tomorrow. For years I have been a grief counselor/spiritual adviser for other people, but it is rare that these things come into my life like this. It caught me by surprise.

He did stop in and say goodbye yesterday morning before I found out though, which kind of tripped me out. I was writing on Sled's paranormal thread and had a vision, thought it was for her, but then I got the news a little later and well, I guess it was for me. Funny how spirit works that way sometimes, so I know Perry is OK, more worried about my cousin at this point.

So sorry to read about this Darkblade! My condolences!
I haven't had a chance to stop in here for ages & today I finally did & then saw this.
(I have a lot of reading to catch up on! 42 pages, wow! At's a lotta beans!)

I'm glad you said about him stopping in...glad to know it does happen to other people!
It kinda freaks me out in a way when it happens,
but at the same time it's nice to know they were thinking of me!

For me sometimes it's just a thought of someone that I haven't seen in years.
Then I'll get the paper & see that they died!
Or I'll smell roses, or something I associate with a certain person.

When my brother was killed late at night in a car accident,
hubby & I woke up from a sound sleep at that exact time.
(We had looked at the clock.) He went to throw some wood in the wood burner,
& when he came back he looked like he had seen a ghost!
He said the hair was even standing up on the back of his neck!

The accident happened out of town & we weren't notified until late the next morning.
His death certificate listed the time of death as the same time that we woke up!
I'd smell brewed coffee at weird, random times when there was none after it happened.
He was a big coffee drinker!

Just this past week I smelled brewed coffee again, but very strongly.
It was just as strong as if I was brewing it in the room I was in. (I drink instant!)
The windows were open, I don't have neighbors close & it was so strong!
It's not the anniversary of his death, or birthday or anything,
but it was my uncle's birthday & he drank coffee, so I don't know if that was it?

Also last week I smelled pipe tobacco, also very strongly.
The only person that I can think of that I ever knew that smoked a pipe,
was a guy in college that had the dorm room directly under mine.
He used to smoke some kind of cherry tobacco, I loved the smell of it!

Now it has me wondering if something happened to him!
I've been racking my brain trying to think of anyone else that smoked a pipe!
I don't like when it happens...especially if I'm not sure who it might be!

I don't need to know this stuff.
It might be a little easier if it only happened after I already knew they were gone!
But then I'd probably think it was all my imagination!
Heck...I always hope it's just my imagination!!!

These are only a few examples, there have been other times.
But enough about that...hey, how about those Pirates???!!!
I don't watch sports much, but a couple of our grandkids were going to be at the game today.
Their little league team was going to walk the bases. So we watched it.

I never saw a game with so many strike outs, balls, foul balls & outs in one game before!
14 innings & the score was only 2 to 1! Plus a 2 hour rain delay!
I can't wait to hear what the grandkids have to say about it tomorrow.
Plus almost a 3 hour ride back home! I bet they were tired!

It's after 1 AM here, guess I'll call it a day!
Guess I won't be having my coffee early!

My condolences, as well, DarkBlade.

We both know your friend is okay from the vision you received. But, as you said, it is the living that have to deal with the grief of losing a loved one.
Please let your cousin know he has a whole slew of people here that are sending love his way to help him in the healing process. And you too.

Here is a toast to your friend, your cousin, and you.

ETA: there was an extremely loud bang on the side of my house just as I pressed the reply button.
I took it as a message that your friend is acknowledging this love we are sending out.

Oh my gosh!! That kitteh is so cute!! Hahahaha! Slurpin it up. And that song is great! My son likes that song, but he's not up yet...I figure the only 'me' time I'm gonna get, is if I wake up early. He sleeps in now that it's summer..I mean he's still a young lil guy, but anyway...

My cup is yellow with a submarine on the side and of course it says the Beatles yellow submarine. My step mom gave it to us for Christmas. It also came with a clear pitcher that has the same logo on the side as the cups do. Oh lalala...blabbin...

So that's that, thanks for sharing the music...can't ever go wrong with listening to the Beatles....imo of course

I just had to get my daughter up so she can follow me around work this morning. It is nice having a job where I can take my daughter with on days where my wife works early.

I love the Yellow Submarine movie. Have since I was a kid.



But then I like almost everything Beatles. Funny, when I was younger I was not much of a Beatles guy, accept for Yellow sub, but kind of like John Lennon, the Beatles music grew on me as I got older.
They are one of my favs these days.

I shoulda been born in the 1950's....lol
