Behind Enemy Lines

I have arrived to the United States.

I have been back for over a week now. I am reporting from behind enemy lines along the east coast. My location must, for the time being, remain a secret. I cannot let anyone know who I am or what I believe.

I have blended in with this strange culture that is modern-day America. I dress like them, talk like them, I even take my meals with them.

They don't suspect that I am actually someone who embraces freedom and liberty and personal responsibility.

I comment on the weather. I nod gravely when talk comes about to the safety of children.

One person I met spoke in hushed whispers about the laws. Always the laws. There are many here.

People are afraid.

I have spoken with others who are glad to be here. They speak of leaving California to a state where they can feel safe. Secure.
They don't speak of freedom, they emphasize protection and security.

This is a strange and disturbing culture.

I will try to log in occasionally and report what I find. I must leave the computer now and go outside and smile in harmony with happiness in our state security and the kindness bestowed upon us by our great and benevolent government.

Pray for me.

Just remember, Beez, there is safety in numbers. Always have someone with you to video the cops wrestling you to the ground for parting your hair on the wrong side.

Right now, the only ones I know are FEMA-friendly.

Though I did make contact with someone who is still waiting for government aid from Hurricane Sandy and is a little irritated with the regime right now. I just don't want to be too overt, he is very vocal about the perceived poor performance from the current regime and is probably a target right now.

Unfortunately, every modern society has the same problems. The materialistic society of which we live in has all but enslaved us. We are told by the corrupt governments of the world, that we must give up our freedom in order to be 'safe'.

And while security and safety are some of the most important aspects in regards to international relations (leading the way for free, sustainable, and fair societies), there is a point whereby the governments can abuse this. This point has been reached.

The people of the world, especially those from Western societies have been all but subjected to propaganda. We are told every day that terrorists pose significant threats to us. That we must install surveillance states in order to ensure that your own brother isn't one of these governmental designated 'terrorists'. We are told that we must sacrifice our freedom for security, even though our countries are already very much secure.

Don't be mistaken though. The threats of terrorist attacks are real ones, but there is only so much a government should enforce laws on its own people in order to combat them.

I say screw blending in. Be yourself, polite and witty. And buy a big 4x4 to tweak the eco freaks. Mention hunting in your conversations.

Myself, I will never work for a company that will not allow me to be myself. That's just one of the reasons I retired. (The Army frowns on dinosaurs nowadays)
