Authorities launch criminal investigation of West, Texas, fertilizer plant explosion

Hours after a paramedic in West, Tex., was taken into federal custody on Friday for unlawful possession of a “destructive device,” the Texas Department of Public Safety and the McLennan County sheriff said they are launching a criminal investigation into the fertilizer plant explosion there last month that killed 14 people.

According to the federal complaint, McLennan County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in the nearby town of Abbott on Thursday, where they found “an assortment of bomb-making components” that the resident had “unwittingly” been given by Reed

It will be interesting to see how deep the rabbit hole goes, seeing as how Monsanto was involved in a law suit at the time with the fertilizer plant, hopefully it was an accidental explosion

Authorities have decline to link the the explosion to the latest development but the fact they are at least looking into a connection is unsettling somewhat.

Behind every crime is a motive.If it turns out it was the guy I wonder why he would have done it for.Paid by Monsanto to put plant out of business and win case??I honestly wouldn't be surprised.But wouldnt the sabateur have been silenced permanently if that's the story?

There is a story here - very weird and suspicious - but we need more research. Monsanto lawsuit filed in 2007. So more questions than answers. Why now?

The suit, filed as a potential class action in U.S. District Court for the western district of Texas, claimed that Monsanto had artificially inflated prices for its herbicide Roundup through anti-competitive actions. The suit did not relate to storing fertilizer, believed to be at the root of Wednesday’s blast.

Many documents in the case are sealed, and the public documents don’t reveal the names of the plant’s then-current owners. Texas corporation records list the president of the company as Donald R. Adair, and show a business operating as Adair Grain Inc. at the same address.

Oh that's curious. There was an explosion in a place called Monsanto, or a plant called Monsanto.

I bet there is some kind of connection there.
