My parents are Jehovah's Witnesses and they talk about one of their leaders saying that 'women are a sack of bones and hank of hair,' in the 1930's at the De Montfort Hall. This was followed with words to the effect of why would you saddle yourself with a woman when you could 'pioneer' for God's kingdom. Quite shameful and yet so many women love the 'religion'.

don't know which one said it but some baptist preacher proclaimed on tv that if a husband didn't want a women working, then she shouldn't be working!!!
really?? what if the husband doesn't want her working this month, but then a few months down the line after the bills start piling up, he does, then after time, he misses all those perks that having his own household servant and decides so shouldn't be working again, and around and around we go!!!
what if the husband decides she should be muslim, or budhist, or whatever??

there is no way that you can take that supposedly command of god and make it jive with the idea that christ came to save all, since, salvation is only extended to the wife if the husband chooses!!!
read in the bible just how it was commanded to the women of isreal in the bible. a king was entertaining his guest. in another area of the palace, his wife was entertaining more than likely the wifes of the kings guest. The king wanted to show off his wife, ordered her to come and dance for them (wondering here if God would have approved of the dance he wanted)...and she refuse, so in a fit of rage he banished her from the kingdom and commanded all the women of the kingdom to obey they husbands!!

the bible says to obey the husband IN ALL THINGS!! I had to laugh one time a long time ago, there was a discussion about that command and well, there were many women supporting it. one day, one of those women posted something like....
"I got to go, my husband will be home soon, and he don't like me posting on this forum!!"

well, if she knew he didn't want her to do it, and she believes that she is commanded to obey him by god....what in hades name is she doing posting on the forum about us other women needed to obey god, by obeying our husbands???

and technically, if a women makes an oath, and it is later found out that her husband doesn't approve, well, the oath is null and void.. could you accepting christ salvation be considered an oath to him?? and well, if it is later found that the husband does not approve, is that oath null and void???

seriously, this is why I no longer go to church. I read that bible from cover to cover, I know what it says, and I came to the conclusion that salvation isn't offered to me, not at least without hubby's approval!

to understand why the jewish priests decided to skip their opportunity to rule the planet via their messiah, consider that there were competing factions inside egypt, that are very ancient. and that jesus was not from their preferred faction. if i understand it correctly, it sounds as if they were of the temple of set. if you know any ancient egyptian information, that would explain a great deal. jesus on the other hand, was not from the temple of set, as is evident in his responses.

This was intended to be my answer to the original OP and I added a bit more.

A woman has the greatest Job in the world and why would they stray from it, being a mother is duty that you should cherish and stand tall for it. No father has the same connection as a mother & child does and it's this that makes woman and child seem like one, the father try as he may will never come close. This is why children are lost and seem to be more violent and callous. The balance is all but lost and mothers give birth but leave to pursue materialism instead of providing the security a child needs from his/her mother.

Woman are capable of doing great things and you could look to the animal kingdom and see the lioness hunt and care for her young while the males sit and wait. Woman can do what a man can do but it's there original duties they strayed from in search of material wealth.

the only problem with matriarchies is they tend to only allow female liberation for the royal females. if you ain't royal, chances are there will be laws in place to keep you at the bottom of the power structure and that is based on my theory that the gods control human populations on this planet, by encouraging societies to view their women as malfunctional pains in the arse. it doesn't help when a society comes along and responds in the exact opposite direction -- et. al treating men poorly simply because of their gender. clearly, this approach just serves to make alot of men really mad, and you end up with the pendulum swinging erratically to the opposite extreme. things rarely come to rest peaceably in the middle.

I always had a problem with this point of view. If women were more powerful then men, then why did they (allegedly) allow themselves to be exploited by guys throughout the ages???

There was/is a strand of thought (especially in the Catholic Church) that takes an extremely dim view of women, but I don't think it is accurate to represent all of Christianity that way. (I'm assuming it is just Christianity you are addressing here, and not all religions?) The whole "In Christ there is no male or female" bit runs somewhat contrary to the strain of thought that sees women as some sort of lower creature. (see Gal. 3:28)

I have actually heard it taught (by Christians) that women is the pinnacle of creation, as she was created last.

She knew something was not right about their creation story, so she snuck up to their space craft one night, grabbed the black box device these things wore around their waste and a door portal opened. The species knew immediately, that she knew...in her haste to warn the hybrid man she didn't think to hipped the evidence of her trespass.
