1) Run CCleaner!
Daily is good. Weekly at the outside. Yearly is
way too long. It's maintenance software, so use it to help maintain the
system in an uncluttered state.
2) Try un-disabling 3rd party cookies.
3) Plug ins are just a type of add on. To disable add-ons (including plug ins) in Firefox, go to
disable or remove add ons in Mozilla.org's support pages.
No need to remove them, just disable them. If you find one is the problem, leave it disabled and check for an updated version. Get the update and
enable it. If the problem's now fixed, good. If not, disable it again or remove it and try to find a similar add on from another source to take its
place. Add ons can cause all sorts of weird problems at times, because they are often made by third parties (not Mozilla) and are not always tested to
work under all conditions.
