Need help interpreting propaganda - Boston Bomber + Lanza

I am far from an expert in propaganda, but this news story struck a chord with me. Why? Because I honestly almost missed the name used in headline. It seemed familiar, couldn't place it, then BAM! it hit me. Weird to me anyway. Please give me your interpretation:

"Boston Suspect Will Not Be Taken Alive, Lanza Says"

You would imagine someone bombing a street would not want to be caught and go out in a blaze of glory.

Whats the problem. he's just saying that is what will probably happen because of the type of person involved.

Why do people read something else into words than the off the cuff intent...?.

That is just odd. I like how broadcastify was down and the minute it came back up, I told my husband, "I guess they caught the guy." Flip over to fox news and saw the headline "We got him!"
