Would $100bn be enough to "change" the world - how would you actually go about doing that?

There are apparently 1.3bn starving people in the world - $100bn wouldn't be enough to feed them, let alone in the long term.

Say you had $100bn/£100bn of hard cash, how on Earth would you go about it (in terms of making a change)?

I would put $99 billion in a safe/vault/bond....
buy a mansion, and keep the rest of the 1 billion in my mansion and live happily ever after

I would start buy opening not for profit businesses that focused onempowering other folks.

I think i would try to influence two major areas. Cleaning up our ocean through filtration. And programs that locally fed people...from local sources.

That much money maybe couldnt change the world alone...but it could start alot of big pushes, normally once the ball starts rolling......

Cheers

I love how people think feeding poor baby factories would somehow solve any problems besides making them more fertile so they can pop out another needy crap factory compounding the problem...

I'd like to buy a bunch of land and build self sustainable living quarters and give it to the needy, but it wouldn't be long before someone with more power came in and taxed it, made regulations against, or just plan took it over.

I guess the best thing to do would be to secretly sponsor or lobby, in order to have just laws replace the unjust ones. Opposite of super pac I guess.

However, no matter what you do with it, someone will be there to seize your efforts.

With a hundred billion dollars, I would hire some good farmers to go teach people how to grow their food in areas and supply the people with seeds and livestock to make fertilizer. I would retain ownership of what I give the people, the cows can be harvested for food, half to be used to help their neighbors and the elderly if they cannot help themselves. Teach people to take care of themselves and to work as a community. What we do now with humanitarianism is to make people rich through sales that are paid for by donations. It is all a scam as far as I can see, the donators think they are helping people but to help someone you need to teach them how to take care of their own. Greed and selfcenteredness is what causes the most harm. People are always out for themselves and if they aren't. they are BSed by those who are. The devil would have you believe a lie, the devil is deceit.

We are conditioned to believe that deceit is necessary for mankind to work properly. That is the biggest farce of all. Let the man without sin throw the first stone may have been planted into the bible or at least used against people by twisting it's intent. I will throw the first stone if I see wrong even if the wrong is widely accepted as normal. Society is twisted to protect those who profit from us living.

Enough negativity...Have a nice day

There will never be enough money to end hunger unless you force every single person on earth to become self-sufficient. Feed a man a fish- feed them for a day; teach a man to fish- feed them for a lifetime. It sounds nice but it doesn't work as a lot of people are just too lazy to fish if they can get someone else to fish for them.

I'd take that money and buy several thousand acres of isolated land with a fresh water source, plenty of room for farming and plenty of fish and game. I'd secure the perimeter, buy and build everything I needed to have a completely self-sufficient community and move all my friends and family to my compound. Nobody would probably ever see us again.

I'd donate a pile of it to autoimmune research .. and a pile of it to FREE BIRTH CONTROL for whoever wanted it. Free condoms, free vasectomies, free tube ties .... Doing those two things should help out a lot ...

Very interesting question. I've thought about this before. Probably what I would do is invest a lot of the money into "alternative sciences" which look very promising... especially alternative clean energy sources. Like thorium reactors for example, they are totally viable and much safer than uranium reactors and I've yet to hear a decent argument for why we don't use them.

Also a lot of research into corrupt systems and companies, especially within the Government and super large companies. A lot of money is spent generating lies in their propaganda departments, a nicely funded anti-propaganda department is crucial and it would interlock nicely with the research and development department.

This is just off the top of my head, but that's probably the sort of thing I'd do... actually now on second thought I'd just buy a huge private island and start my own nation from the ground up with a vastly new type of government and law system. Screw trying to fix something which is already so broken when I can just start from scratch.

If I had that much money, I'd have to create business that in turn gives back to the community. In form of jobs, insurance, and hopefully something that useful to the community. I'd open or rather, reopen restaurants that have closed and are awaiting a new management. My husbands a cook and I use to manage the front of a restaurant before I went into the military.

I'd give to charities also, but I guess if I had that much money, I'd feel beholden to turn it into something many can benefit from and KNOW that it did. So I'd likely sponsor local charities and activities. This way it's directly benefiting the people, not going into an appropriation trust - where who knows if my donation ever reached any person directly to help them.

I'd also work with church's and work to re-create a return of the "hospital churches" - where what is given is what those can afford to pay - and no one is ever turned away.

Peace,
Cirque

i would always eat out and drink, but not only fancy places, i would also eat out at dinners and dive bars, i would proceed to tip out between 500 and 1000 bucks, depending on the service, by chance someone that really needs it will finally catch a break, but if i got shattnity service or i didn't like the attitude, i would then buy the place and fire the server or tender on the spot. I could probably do this for some years before i ran out of money, but by then i would own multiple businesses, and still have at least a billion stashed away in precious metals/guns/ammo/artifacts/general goods, and a fortress built into the side of a mountain with a complete working farm and steel forge.

Id take 50 million and give the rest to the poor . Honestly!

At least make sure the poor have food, and basic health care.

I would also let them farm, and breed animals.

Back to the hunter days lol but with less children.
