Well, here's another VERY good reason I will never, ever sit my butt down in a fly-by-wire aircraft EVER again. In the reference story, it's an amazing discovery! You can use information warfare to take down an aircraft with a small, local electronic device. Nice information to know if you a 15 yr old computer guru with nothing to do on a lazy Saturday afternoon. For the pilots on ATS, how long does it take, roughly, for an airliner to depart 'normal' flight at say flight level 380 at optimal cruise? MIJI anyone ?

Encryption, don't leave Earth without it !

Yeah, I know, it came from FNN. Enough.

You cant take control of any existing commercial aircraft without inserting equipment into multiple communications systems which are hard wired to each other. So don't worry about taking that flight.

It looks like the 'hacker' - and I use the term loosely, simply intercepted unencrypted transmissions. Must be a real brainiac...

Getting paranoid is a good indication for you to switch off the TV and go outside to take a breath of fresh air..
