Slot Machine conspiracy

I've seen a lot of methods on YouTube that fool statistical models or exploit backdoors in
fruit machines so you can always profit. I've never tested them, but as a kid I was always fascinated
about how I could keep playing these machines without putting in more money by finding out
the cheat codes built into the game by the makers.

A long time ago I come across some interesting information I would like to share..

To test how dishonest the machine is, they run the machine under an emulator.

What an emulator lets you do is save the machines state and test the various outcomes for yourself.

For example you might get 3 golden bells and the button to gamble lights up.
You instantly think there's a choice here - I can gamble and win more/lose or I can stick and take the win.

So at the point you get 3 bells you click a button on the emulator and then can test if you will win or not.

To stick means you already have won (Take the money and run) however the other 2 options are
equally dubious.

They illustrate that the machines behaviour is pre determined i.e. it _will_ rip you off no matter
which buttons you press as the result is already fixed..

This RAM file demonstrates the "hold dilemma". On the second spin, two cherries will appear on the second and third reels, with the option to hold. If you elect NOT to hold the cherries, a cherry will spin in on Reel 1 on the next turn, leading the player to believe holding the cherries would have yielded a win. However, if you DO hold the cherries, a red 7 will spin in on the first reel instead.

Of course they work like this. It's common knowledge.

They all are driven by something called a pay table. It controls the odds/how much can potentially be paid out over time.

They know exactly how much is going to be paid out before the reels even spin, and any sense of randomness (in any video poker games) is an illusion. There are plenty of slots game concepts that can convey a false sense of choice to the player, while sticking to a predetermined result.

Guess there are better ways to spend your money if you don't like this notion. I have worked on slots software, so I'm not just mouthing off here.

Actually they run with random number generator chips. But whoever is running the machines can set the payout, Most bars set them at 50/50 ( fifty cents paid for every dollar taken in). I know people who have set them as low as 20/80 and as high as 80/20. It all depends on whether the owner is greedy or wants more people to come in and play.

They use pseudo random number generators PRNG but the pay outs are not really random

I have a friend that worked in the Mexican slot business. All major casinos there and here and probably the world over have their slots controlled by a master computer that constantly keeps tabs on everything and changes the odds as deemed necessary. That does not mean it is impossible to play the system, but merely that the system is playing you. Knowing when to quite is the key.

I do not know how true this article yaslot.com... probably the casino itself decides when to throw the winning people to whet the interest of people playing the game

I have one friend who tested odds on slots in vegas for a living for years. He absolutely can (and has done so with me once) sit between two machines, play somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 to 100 hands on each (at the same time), and tell you where in the win cycles they are.

He claims he won't do it anymore generally because it's boring, and he doesn't need the money.

a friend of mine used to play the slots/fruities a lot, and he told me once that if you have two come up the same with a hold option, you should hold all three, and if you hold all three again afterwards, then the next time if will spin all three (even though you held them all) and reel in all three as a winning line (or something like that, it was 20 years ago). I remember putting a pound into a machine in a service station once, and on the first spin, it rolled onto three dollars, and I got an £8 payout straight away! not an example of what I've just described, I know, but a nice thing to happen at the time.

I never trusted those things anyway
