population reduction is now underway....because radiation poisoning takes time, and it can be blamed on other mitigating factors., the worlds population will slowly start to go down. children born with birth defects from radiation will not live as long, and will not reproduce. the wealthy will have the means to not ingest tainted food, but the vast amount of poor people will have no choice, and will be lied to about how bad it really is. the very wealthy will be able to afford scrubbers and decontamination mechanisms, that will insure their survival
question.....I wonder if there are people that check their seafood or other products that are imported from Asia for radiation. maybe taking a reliable Geiger counter to the grocery store, might not be a bad idea....if the MSM outlets are keeping a lid on what's happening in Fukushima, why wouldn't they keep a lid on radiated seafood and other products...after all, it's just business.

Amount of high contaminated water is very big ..

They producing around 400 tones of high radiative water a day produced by the cooling operations needed to keep fuel from overheating, that will be similar in next decade ..

This fuel rods have to be cooled between 6 to 10 years before they're safe enough to be taken out of these pools and put into dry cast storage ..

Have you seen the movie Soylent Green or read the book novel from 1966 (note the date) Make Room! Make Room!. That pretty much show what we will get in our future and it does not cover all the angles...

I do think that we have passed the point of no return long ago, that in regards to quality of life of the general population will only continue to decline the 90's were the probably the decade that we as as species could have done something about our global ways any solution now will only delay the decline.

We can even argue that the situation is even more dire that we know and what we the general population know is even less that those in power to make the required changes ought to take into consideration, we rarely see any government officials talking about desertification, sea level rises or the increase in climate turbulence except during a catastrophe and it is generally known that those will continue not only to increase in frequency but in the damage and impact they have and then there is the unseen stuff like you refer the oceans as the ultimate trash dump from heavy metals to plastics, from wash-out chemical fertilizers to human excrement (and that of the live stock we feed upon) things have been out of control for so long that most of the damage is not reversible anymore. We have doomed future generations to an agonizing decline from the rise of genetic and reproduction disorders from autism to the rise of asthma.

The radioactive water has always been an issue. They tried to bury it but they is clearly not working out. As long as the plant cannot hold water, this is going to be a problem. Burying the water was not going to work and now they clearly see that. They are going to have to stop the water leaking out of the plant. It is illogical to keep trying to store the water because they will run out of space for it. Japan is not a huge island and space is limited. The Pacific Ocean may get another round of poison water dumped into it before something is worked out.
