Based on the ATS waterfall of information, the parents could just be paranoid. Don't forget that the U.S. tried to encourage immigration from Cuba to places like Florida in the postwar years by giving Cubans a helping hand in finding and securing education and job opportunities.

The last time I was in Miami, which was about 5 years ago, the streets were literally overflowing with homeless Cubans living on the sidewalk. I do not exaggerate when I say this. 6 am on the streets of Miami looks like Havana.

Look like good wholesome parents to me.
I bet those kids are safer now than before when the corrupt CPS ring tried to control their lives.

I agree, how dare these parents actually want to raise their own children.

That's interesting, why would it be posted in chit chat? I tried searching for anything about this and couldn't find it. Though this is mostly about where they ended up, I did for the past few days wonder why there wasn't anything about this.

[snip]

I hope the kids are doing well. I'm sure they're confused. I wonder what their parents have told them.

There are certain situations where a parents rights SHOULD be terminated and in reading everything about this story, they went to court, and had due process, the family court found that there was enough evidence to terminate rights. Now mind you.. I hate CPS, with passion, I've had MANY fights with them over the years, both as an advocate and also for my own issues with them when i fought a school district on something and they were called in. But this certainly seemed like a situation where they would have had their rights terminated.

Mind you, they could have legally appealed it, and gotten them back, so to turn into criminals to do it makes NO sense..

I bet you those kids are not only not confused, but totally on board (no pun intended) with their parents' decision.

It looks like Cuban authorities are doing the right thing in protecting them from being harassed by the media as well.

Side with Cubans as well, you're just full of surprises today.

Looks like you didn't read your own article.

They had attempted this before with guns. The state terminated the parents rights. Now, known criminals steal the kids ( no matter if they previously were Their kids) and remove them to Cuba - without proper passports/visa's and without proper parental rights. They were in the wrong.

Should it have been handled differently? Yes, on both ends.

Agreed. Off to jail

Cuba disagrees with that as they are sending them back. And all great parents travel around with guns and drugs in their hotel room so they can all take a final journy to Armageddon together.

I do not have enough information outside of the official State Propaganda. All I know is that I am being told that parents are "kidnapping" their own children. I have no history of abuse or anything credible to go on.

My sense is that this is one more sign of Fascism come to America.

www.huffingtonpost.com... update

HAVANA -- Cuba says it will turn over to the United States a Florida couple who allegedly kidnapped their own children from the mother's parents and fled by boat to Havana.
so it seems they will be sending the kids and the parents back to the usa

It'd be nice to hear their side of the story, huh?

More and more often, cases like this arise and judgements are made by people having only heard one side of it.

After learning of CPS related corruption in other areas of the country recently, I wouldn't be surprised if their story won't be allowed to be heard.

Miami, as with most of the world nowadays, has changed significantly since the attempts were made to entice Cubans to migrate to the United States. Your observation of the homeless Cuban population in Miami speaks to the lack of social safety nets to endure/cater to the migrants that came over.

Please remember parents. You are never free. You shall walk the line and do as your television tells you. You are slaves and you do not own your children. The government does. As long as you comply with state sponsored guidelines we will let you maintain the illusion that you are free and that we care.

Remember to say "Ahmen" when we preach the NWO. Remember that Eurasia is winning the war. Production numbers are up. Jobs are plentiful.

And if you don't. AND IF YOU DON'T. The ministry of truth will confess your sins. The ministry of love will confess your earthly bodies. The citizens will revile in their disgust of your impure ways.

Please be responsible and report thought crime.

That is all.

if someone took my kids in this manner, a trumped up charge simply because i was at an anti-government rally, hell yeah i would use guns to get my kids back.

you mention guns as if their presence alone makes the parents guilty.

so, it's ok for the Feds to conduct an armed raid of a citizen's home to 'collect/kidnap' Elian and send him to Cuba, but it's not ok for these parents to escape tyranny by fleeing to Cuba

Great point!
I forgot about the Elian saga.
The Op is correct, who would have thought this would be a headline..... even 15 years ago?

It looks like Cuba is cooperating and the kids have been returned to the US. I have no source so take it with a grain of salt, I saw it scrolling at the bottom of Fox News.

Great! I feel that much safer now that a 2012'er is locked up and his kids taken away!

I am glad that the real threats to my safety are being addressed, like 2012'ers, marijuana smokers, and environmentalist protesters.

I suppose the next time the Gubb'mint can declare a bio-feedback practitioner a public menace and then I would really feel snugly.
