Tempera Paint Powder? Radioactive?

My husband decided he wanted to do one of this silly “Color Fight” photo sessions.. Now it is VERY odd of him to want to get in front of the camera, so I have to take it where I can.

I asked a group of fell photographers about what “Color Product” should be used.. And a few ladies started ranting about how “Tempera Paint Powder is Radioactive…”

None of them could provided me with any information on this..

And a simple google search didn’t pull up anything specific…

Have I missed something? Have you heard this?

They have no clue what they are talking about.

It depends on the pigment. Radioluminescent ("glow in the dark") pigments that contain radium may be radioactive (I know, a redundant sentence). Here is some basics regarding pigments. Hope that helps.

No body is using radium in paint anymore, as that is illegal.

I would think most people use Holli Chalk for those kinds of pics...
