Well i would like to say about time, i have always wondered and heard rumors about this sort of stuff but it really surprises me is that no American news media has covered this scandal. As of yet apparently no one has come forward to claim responsibility for this whistle blowing ,rightfully so or it would probably have been killed by now.But apparently the story goes as follows the rich are stashing their money abroad and not having to pay taxes on it and getting away with it because of loopholes that the government has set into place to allow this to happen as i stated before i always thought about it but figured how would you prove it Well to my surprise someone has and if you read the editorial from cbc news it should answer most of your questions. i hope i did this correctly mods and sorry if i did something wrong hope this is in the right forum PEACE the link below will give you the info i had stated hope it works

This has been hi-lighted in the U.K and the BBC aired a Panorama programme about it.

It transpires that a number of the British Government cabinet members have offshore accounts, thereby avoiding having to pay any taxes. Oh and a hell of alot of larger corporations do the same, thereby avoing corporation tax.

I'm not surprised that this hasn't been a subject picked up by other news outlets as no doubt the owners of these media oulets have offshore accounts.

Yep and now i think i will believe this cbc news from now on because if it was owned by a tycoon we would have never heard of it either my friend. I am so excited as this being my first post, but this is so wrong in so many ways. Maybe you never know it might just be the start of things to come from my experience these people will start ratting out the other cause they think it will take the heat off their arses. So we will see. PEACE.

It's an important story, and congrats on your first thread! Sure the CBC tries, but a note of caution about believing everything they say. Sometimes they seem muzzled on certain topics. I find it better to keep an open mind and to check other sources as well. This story is just now being discovered and I imagine it will take some time to produce real news out of the meat of the matter, namely will those offshore people who are not declaring their holdings be made accountable so that the rest of us don't have to foot all of the bills?
