q: what is the difference between being a republic and being a democracy and why is that important to your party?
a: It's very important, in our republic we're recognizing a higher moral authority, in a democracy they sometimes refer to it as three wolves and a
sheep deciding on whats for dinner the rule of the majority rules in a democracy, and that's very dangerous, our founder's actually preached against
democracy.
James Madison founder of the constitution said democracies have always been speculative, turbulent, and violative of property rights and personal
liberties.
So in a republic we recognize that there is higher moral authority, there is a god, and government is responsible to God just as individuals are, John
Adams said our constitution is inteded for a moral and religious people and it's wholey inadaquete for the governence of any other.
So there is a big difference, and I guess the easy way to say it is;
It's the source of authority that is differenent then in a democracy and a republic.
