Feline ADD.

Got two new kittens here - covered in either fresh or healing wounds ... still learning.

You are obviously not up to speed with her program. Get with it ... phones are on a strict time limit !!

cats act as protectors to us. there may be something she is warning you about when you are on the phone. she senses something. the only way to tell is the next time you are on the phone be aware of the effects the phone has on you physically. beware of your feelings. she senses some kind of change in you and she is attacking that change...not you per se.

Thanks, I was worried that it might be the frequency of the phone that bothers her???

Lol, that sounds about right. I had lots of the "wounds" when she was a kitten, and she still loves playing!

Now that is interesting. I just thought that it might be the frequency of the phone that's bothering her.

I will definitely try to do as you said.

well, you know, depending on the pitch of the ring, it could be interfering with the programming....

oh wait!! You're not supposed to know that!!!

ummmm.... yeah.... she hears the ringing and it makes her think of playing... kinda like the pavlov dog thing... yeah, that's it

Has absolutely, positively nothing to do with her being a spy or trying to take over the world or anything silly like that

Yeah, the eyes do look devious in the photo!

I've had cats all through childhood, and then again only recently. She is really the most awesome cat with a beautiful nature.

Maybe you should get yourself one again????

I'm too easily fond of the little buggers. Watching my last little guy die of feline leukaemia I decided I didn't want to go through that again. We've had more cats than a dozen cat ladies over the years too, haha. We seemed to collect strays, when I was a kid, and most stayed with us over the years. Living on a vast open yard didn't help, as it was full of mice, so cats were always there.

I may, one day. Seeing your piccy reminds me how much I miss the personalities they have.

The loss of a beloved animal companion certainly cuts deep. I know from experience.

I hope you will come to a decision soon enough, seeing that my cute kitty made an impact on you!

That's rule number one in the cat bible, don't even think about trying to do anything else whilst your cat wants attention!
After all the ancient Egyptians worshipped cats as gods and present day cats haven't forgotten this!

Lol, I think the cats took it to head, with all the worship.

But, present day, we do nothing different. We are still worshipping the little furry gods/goddesses!

Hello,
I just wanted to say that your cat does that because he/she thinks you are speaking to them. Some cats think you're speaking to them when you're on the phone because they obviously don't see anyone else so you must be talking to them. They hear your voice and no one else.

If the attack happens while you're on the phone and facing the other direction, then your cat doesn't think you're talking to them, they're attacking you because they want your attention, especially if you're on the phone for a long period of time. Remember, what you don't consider a long time, your cat probably does.

Attacking you to get your attention may be due to a number of reasons. Perhaps they want to play, or they recently were playing and they lost their toy and need your help finding it. Maybe it's nap time and they want you to put them to bed (yes, some cats actually try to get your attention to put them to bed). If it's not play time or nap time, maybe it's dinner time and you're running late in feeding them? If the cat usually drinks water from the faucet, then they're attacking so you will turn on the faucet.

It could be any one of those reasons, and plenty more. They could even be attacking you because they don't feel well and want you to make them feel better.

Many people understand dogs far better than cats because they think cats don't communicate as good as dogs. This is simply not true. Cats can be trained just like dogs to do tricks as well as have a good vocabulary where they understand the meaning of many words and phrases.

If you think about it, since you know your cat, I'm sure you can figure out why your cat is attacking you. Let us know!

Cats don't want to go outside until they see you close the door.
Cats don't need to use the phone, until they see you making a call.

She wanted to order an anchovy pizza obvioulsy..

Cute cat! And I think the answer is simple. Kitty is saying ” pay attention to me and only me!” I get the same treatment while texting, trying to actually write on paper....forget it!, and while doing computer work or studying...

By the look of your cat I think it is demon possessed. Have you tried throwing some holy water over her and seeing if she reacts violently?

Hi there One,

Thanks for your reply. It has become quite clear that she doesn't want me to give attention to anyone but her, and obviously my hubby!

My hubby also mentioned that she does the same thing to him when I am not here, just not as violently!

I can tell you that she definitely did!

But she creeped into the shower without me seeing her under my arm, and she got the shock of her life!
