New Michigan State Police Radar or Acoustic Wepon?

I am an USAF Vet from the 70's era.
I was stationed at Holloman Afb in New Mexico.

Ever since my stent in the military I have been able to hear police radar guns.
It never proved to be of any other benefit to me than to give me a heads up of an impending ticket.
The sound is so high pitch I can hardly describe it.
I can some what tell if I am getting closer by increasing or decreasing volume of the sound.

The sound of the new guns sound the same but are very quiet and a short simple burst.
I have seen more of these lately used by local police.

Well with that said I driving with my nephew this weekend.
I heard a normal old school radar gun that I assumed that I was driving up on.
As I drove on and the sound was getting louder.
I told him about the sound and that I have been able to use it to check my speed before getting a ticket.
He looked at me like - Ya right!?

I told him to look for a police are at the side near the side of the road.
And that it was getting louder so I was sure we were getting close.

Then for the first time ever.
Not the pulsed or constant sequel of the Radar gun.

This was a constant pressure that I can only describe as a huge pressure of over whelming silence.
It was overwhelming. I began to pass out. I began to blurt out take the wheel as I felt myself beginning to go.
But then it quit.

As I quickly recovered I saw the source.
There was a very large "Suburban" like Michigan state police vehicle behind the van that was directly behind me;.
The normal radar sequel restarted.
The bubble of the police light was above the van.

Any Idea's....................
Something new????

My nephew saw the state police car also. So it kind of affirmed my assertion to him.
The van turned and the police suburban continued to follow me.

The incident bothers me.
I dam near passed out.

PS: I had some thing that was close but not even close to the high of the volume of this device the police were using. It was mounted inside a turboprop lifting body aircraft built in Brazil. The pilot said it was a noise canceling device to keep down the engine noise in the passenger compartment. It was uncomfortable when turned on.

I was thinking that if you could already hear sub or super sonic ( I can hear a TV on in the house when i first walk in its super high pitched) what if it is some sort of weapon to affect the subconscious or make a person with criminal tendencies to make a right turn

I wish I can hear that good! I can never hear my wife for some reason when she's complaining.

The government developed a "tool" that will cause a car to shake using sound waves below our threshold. It is going to be on ambulances and some police cars. It causes the car to resonate like it has a bad bearing or a flat tire or like hitting those little ground in lines on the highways that keep us alert. They are only to be used in emergencies. Maybe someone was playing with one. This is supposedly very low subsonic frequency not high frequency. You ever hear a car with powerful subwoofers vibrate? The sound that vibrates it is not in the normal hearing threshold.

What on earth would this do? Why would shaking a car, from an ambulance, but only in an emergency condition, be of use to anyone?

First sell me a reason why this is supposed to be so, before you claim it's all truth.

So you really believe you can "hear" RF frequencies in the 8 Ghz - 20 Ghz range?

The normal human hearing range is from 20Hz-20000Hz, no where even close to the range of a radar gun, not to mention that as you age you lose some of the upper part of hearing range beginning at about age 8.

Maybe not the carrier RF but a modulation frequency or a harmonic if there is something conductive and resonant in his body. Not likely in that band and at those power levels, but not completely discountable.

I read some more technical articles on it's application. You can google it to find more about it if you want.

I wouldn't mind having one of these things. Sit outside of a friends home and turn it on their house. Maybe someone is messing with people around the country and they are thinking there are tremors

I think it is a tuned resistant cavity.
I was in the military in the late 70's.

They were developed and deployed against the Russian's as externally powered bugs.
When no carrier frequency is applied they are undetectable.
They only turn on when the carrier frequency is externally applied.

That's seriously disturbing. I can well believe you hear them. I have family that can hear the "inaudible" - to most people - bat calls, lights whining, and even those sonic pest control devices. Bet you can hear those as well. In this case, that's freaky! Hearing the radar would be quite handy. Something that almost made you pass out? Not cool! That it was behind YOU, when you can hear the other stuff, pushes "coincidence" a bit too far for my taste. Did this vehicle show up before or after you spoke of hearing the radar? Did your passenger hear anything at all, or have ANY reaction? Odd feelings, unusual thoughts, nervousness, anything? Maybe it's something new, being used to make people react (without most consciously hearing a thing), so they can write more tickets? I would say make some inquiries, but that could have bad results. Whatever research you do, do it anonymously!

The radar thing is certainly a strange gift of sorts.

It was a constant tone not pulsed like most of the newer radars of late
I can tell when getting closer by increased volume.
It is usually a low sequel. In that instance it was getting louder.

I assumed that I was running up on a police car.

It ran up on me from the rear. It was masked from my view by a another vehicle behind me.

Strange indeed, especially in that case. Have you heard anything like it since that time? Or had anything else happen that would indicate some level of attention your way? it's possible it really was a coincidence that you could hear it, and they were using something new. Still, I would wonder as much as you do. Heck, I might find myself watching cops, to see if they had any new "toys", that looked different.
