Conspiracy Theory Poll Results

I thought this was amusing it would seem that many Americans believe in Conspiracy Theories of one sort or another.

Seems that 29% of us believe Aliens exist. I bet those 29% are on this website. lol

It's funny that what was before a fringe thing. Is now a bit more mainstream.
Many people believe in conspiracies and for good reason.

On our national poll this week we took the opportunity to poll 20 widespread and/or infamous conspiracy theories. Many of these theories are well known to the public, others perhaps to just the darker corners of the internet. Here’s what we found:

- 37% of voters believe global warming is a hoax, 51% do not. Republicans say global warming is a hoax by a 58-25 margin, Democrats disagree 11-77, and Independents are more split at 41-51. 61% of Romney voters believe global warming is a hoax

- 6% of voters believe Osama bin Laden is still alive

- 21% of voters say a UFO crashed in Roswell, NM in 1947 and the US government covered it up. More Romney voters (27%) than Obama voters (16%) believe in a UFO coverup

- 28% of voters believe secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government, or New World Order. A plurality of Romney voters (38%) believe in the New World Order compared to 35% who don’t

- 28% of voters believe Saddam Hussein was involved in the 9/11 attacks. 36% of Romney voters believe Saddam Hussein was involved in 9/11, 41% do not

The 2 billion rounds of ammo has been somewhat explained here on ATS.
It's not that they are buying that much ammo. They are buying up to that much ammo.
A little different.

The personnel carriers weren't ordered but were given by the Navy to DHS. Again that was discussed on this site.

FEMA camps. You got me there.
Personally I think they are there if we ever go to war with the Muslim side of the world. They would more than likely round up Muslims like they did the Japanese during WWII. For their "protection".

I believe our ancestors were more advanced than we know, and that
the players behind tptb have hid this technology for global domination.

I believe global warming is natural, and is why we lost our ancient technology
along with other natural disasters, and wars.

I believe the world economy, wars, and government getting into everything is part
of a nwo take over.

Polls are all well and good, but in my opinion, and I'm sure I'm not alone, the source of a poll makes all the difference in the world. Especially given how this one specifically breaks down political voting demographics.

All I have to say is:

That's just sad.

I have a mixed bag.

I believe in aliens visiting earth. I believe that a NWO, or TPTB or Illuminati, are behind wars and currency manipulations. I believe in global warming being enhanced by human carbon waste. I am uncertain if the us government, or an agency, was involved in 911 and Sandy Hook. It appears to be that we are trying to bankrupt the monetary system, undoubtedly for the Elise's purposes.

I don't think the moon landings were faked, that Saddam Hussein was involved in 911, nor that Mr. Obama is the antichrist.

I don't think you read it thoroughly.

It is amusing though that so many people out there think Obama's the anti-christ, Bin Laden is alive and global warming isn't real.

That's funny because ATS is the source du jour for many of those fringe topics.

There was a similar poll results posted in my countries newspaper today... Not the US of course, thought it odd to see this posted about the US and having read very similar polling results in my paper.

The US government was responsible for 9.11
JFK assassinated by the us government,
Aliens,
Osama bin laden is alive,
Etc etc... My favorite here, Elvis is still alive.

It beat both moon landing is fake, and hidden disaster scenario beliefs,,


The first three had almost 50% of the population believing in them, about a third(30%) believes osama is alive and well some where. About half believe the US didn't kill him like they claim.

Aliens was a respectable >40%,,,

My full CT belief system:

1. I believe global warming is real, and at least partially man-made.
2. Bin Ladin is dead.
3. Roswell was a real alien crash.
4. The elite do pull the strings.
5. Saddam Was not involved in 911.
6. I don't know if childhood vaccines can lead to autism.
7. The moon landings were real.
8. Obama is NOT the anti-Christ (but he may be a bad president)
9. Bush lied about Saddam's 911 to gain support for war (another bad President)
10. No lizard people (as far as I know)
11. JFK killing was a conspiracy. Oswald did not act alone.
12. Not sure about Bigfoot.
13. Chemtrails may be used to poison citizens. But rarely used.
14. It is plausible that big pharmaceutical might invent viruses. Not sure.
15. Paul is alive.
16. 911 may have been allowed to happen, so that the elite could take away our personal rights. Not sure.
17. Surprise, I believe in alien visitation.
