"some people are just to comfortable"

Funny you would say that as I am more comfortable financially there I have ever been. I literally have just about everything I could ever want. And I would still fight...............

You mean the government might be trying to goad someone into creating exactly what the government needs to show on TV to push even stronger anti-gun legislation through the Congress?

Nah, they'd never do that.

Phew, thanks for comforting me!

Do what you will about guns and ammo.

Stash anything you want.

Tell NO ONE, don't brag don't even make a hint.

All those anti gunner and other idiots will be the ones who become tattle tales and criminal if REAL chaos comes.

Be prepared to take them out as quickly as possible.

Those are the people who want you disarmed so that they can perpetrate every form of evil on you with impunity.

They do not want the just punishment that would come from their action under proper circumstances.

Quite frankly ONLY the guilty want you disarmed.

they took seven firearms all either shotguns or rifles. There was no mention of pistols, assault rifles or a large cache of ammo. [I am sure the reporters would have been all over that.] What makes you think this was a successful raid? What makes you think that he did not have an alternitive cache site? If he was a true prepper, they did not get what they can for and are trying to save face.

In other news today hunting season is about to start.

I didn't necessarily mean comfortable in only a financial sense.

People are comfortable with their routine, their home, their job, etc.

If they protest, it is likely that they could be arrested and possibly lose their jobs, depending on their field, and they would have a record following them and to many, that might be a bigger risk than they are willing to take.

I am glad you would be willing, though.

There's a very, very good chance that in the future, anyone who goes through divorce court will forever never be allowed to own a gun.

And other civil rights stripped searched from that divorce individual.....as psychological records become part of the public domain through Obamacare and Universal Background Checks.

How do you rate a 150 person raiding party on a two bedroom, wood frame house successful or not. I mean, that no helicopters crashed during the raid? No armored vehicles ran out of gas? The front hoe digging up the yard didn't rust during excavation?

They did NOT get what they came after. All they recovered are what some refer to as "truck guns". That is a cheap gun to leave in the truck for whatever purpoe you might want. They did not recover anything that a real prepper might have. If they had, it would have splashed across the headlines. This raid was a waste of their time and effort.

Why are you the only one managing to wade through all the BS in this thread?

He was a felon with firearms. All the police heard was 'illegal arms' and had little to no idea what more to it there was, whether it was one rifle or fifty.

I oppose any and all laws against former felons. I could care less about so-called 'gun rights' but they probably shouldn't have bothered this guy. Unless he really was as crazy as at least one of his neighbors claimed him to be.

I bet you just about anything this "prepper" was one of those people who would say, "they will never take my guns without a fight" or "from my cold dead hands".

I find it hilarious when reality hits them square in the face.

But I'm sure there are some of you reading this thinking the exact same thing he was....right?

Just curious to get some ATS input on this.. If/when this gun confiscation really does happen, do you guys thing I should be worried about the single shot bolt action .22 my granddad left me? Surely I don't pose a threat with a gun that takes at least 10-20 seconds to reload between shots.. I'm kind of already preparing mentally to sustain the loss. It still shoots, but I don't even use the thing, its a sentimental object... guess I should get over that?

i bet that they had a roach coach, bring coffee and Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kremes for the after raid party.
then stood around slapping each other on the back saying good job.

Nope! I am more in the line of thinking you feel quite comfortable allowing the government to use you as one of their useful idiots!

OR

You must be a member of the "Obama Truth Squad" and you are willing to come on ATS so many times that it is quite obvious you are here for work reasons more so than personal ones????

Care to address the use of 150 gestapo agents to take down a guy with 7 weapons???

So, the reality was that he was raided because he is a felon in possession of guns.

This has little to do with him being a prepper.

If he didn't have a felony conviction against him, I'd be more impressed.

I worked with a person that had a felony conviction. He went to court to see if he could legally own a hunting rifle. He was turned down so he doesn't have a rifle. His opinion is it's not worth going back to jail for possession of a rifle.

It isn't funny so much, when you have all of the "Obama Truth Squad" drones on ATS saying, "They aren't going to take your guns!"!

With that being said, it appears they are now using "Wellness checks with police escort people to the hospital!"! Where I live they call it a 302. If the police take you to the emergency room for an evaluation, whether or not you get out clean or not(mentally) you lose what guns you may have, and you can not purchase anymore.....

With that being said, here is another example of how, YES, they are taking our guns!

A US Navy veteran had his guns confiscated by police following a forced “psychiatric evaluation” in another example of how the Veterans Administration is accelerating a purge of armed ex-servicemembers in accordance with a federal government demonization campaign that has labeled vets domestic terrorists.

50-year-old David A Schmecker is an honorably discharged disabled US Navy veteran from Connecticut with no criminal record and no psychiatric history.

On February 5, Schmecker’s hospital primary care doctor called and heard a message on Schmecker’s answer machine that “sounded peculiar,” prompting him to contact the local police and urge them to visit Schmecker to perform a “wellness check”.

“The police came to my home, and, without any justification whatsoever, hauled me away for a psychiatric evaluation at a local hospital. I submitted to their forceful insistence under duress and fear of arrest or worse. I wasn’t arrested, no crime was committed nor any threats were made to myself or others,” Schmecker told Survive and Thrive’s George Hemminger.

“They confiscated my guns and pistol permit. I was released two days later from the evaluation on my on recognizance. I have since attempted to use the courts and attorneys to fight the revocation of my pistol permit. Then on top of everything else, the bills from the short stay at the hospital and EMS bills that they billed me, along with what I had to pay the attorney adds up to a large amount of money,” he adds.

They arent. This is one case. There are millions of gun owners. Benelli, smith & Weston, Beretta Heckler and Koch Colt of course, they all want to keep making money with ammo and guns. If anything they are taking influence on the government to not enact new gun laws, or better yet, to play and fiddle with gun laws to maximize sales. I am willing to bet, the ban on assault rifles and the unbanning of them netted them more sales than having had assault rifles unbanned for this whole time.

They aren't? There are MANY more than the one example I gave! You know it, as well as I do.

You seem to have an issue with a company making money, moreso than a government taking away peoples rights!

This thread is not about bashing Capitalism, but about the government taking away our 2nd amendment! Do you have anything to contribute that actually addresses that????

Guess the only corporate product we are not "entitled" to is a gun maybe we should start a gun welfare program and give them to people for "Free" then it will become so big and bloated it will become a "sacred cow" that no one would want to touch it.

Giving that extra gun you no longer use away would be the exact thing !
Everyone with more than one could do it it would arm that many more of us!
You dont have to give yer best, but something shootable would be sufficient....
The fact is the laws are being used in ways they atre not passed to accomplish......
This extra agenda is purely anti 2nd amendment , in fact they are disarming Americans a few at a time....

If xedocodex has anything to do with it, you will do hard time for possessing that weapon of mass destruction.

And let's face it, it is possible that some members here work for the Feds.

The anonymous tipster told police that the Prepper did NOT vote for Obama..and said that Obamna was a lousy president........and that was more than enough to launch an all out assault.
