Thank you Kyrie

Mrs C is catholic and swears that the religion is irrelevant

It's her personal connection that is important.

But her family celebrate Easter more than Christmas, not in any monetary way (apart from phone calls to family) just put a day aside to celebrate Christ together as a family in a more personal way than usual.

I look after the BBQ.

Here is the gist of the op
"My question is how many of you celebrate Easter with the same fervor you celebrate Christmas ? "

Stop Judging each other, and answer a VERY SIMPLE question.
Stop making this a microcosm of why people can't get along with each other.
NOW!!!!!
Nowhere has this been deemed the "I am holier than thou" contest.

If you notice this thread was from the beginning of April

I wasn't judging anyone

I asked a genuine question.

At one point I u2u'd a mod and asked for this thread to be shut down it had got so off topic.

I just replied to a friend that brought it back to my attention

Please feel free to remove it if you deem it offensive

I should also apologize for the necroposting, I suppose it's best to just let sleeping dogs lie.

The thing that bothers e the most is that a simple question is asked in a simple manner.
In fact, i was curious too; But I read through the thread. And other than a bunch of chest thumping over who had the right to answer the question. The question remained largely unanswered.

I'd like to read something substantial within the first page or two without the bickering.
I know this can be done. I know this is possible. I have "faith" in all of you.

To answer more directly since I dredged this back up:

I celebrate the life of Jesus much more fervently than his death. So his birth and re-birth bring me great joy, but his death, regardless of what it signifies, is tragic to me, especially the way in which it was done, and I would not wish that on anyone.

There was no need to apologize, though it a greatly appreciated.
The answer in your next post, makes complete sense to me.
To celebrate the life of an important figure, the things this man stood for.
regardless of whether you are religious or not. It does stand to reason that a great life should be celebrated.
