Finished this game yesterday after half the day playing it, though its a short game it's brilliant at that, like you said. The story is really
something and though I can think of a few things that does not makes sense or fit into the overall scope what with the ending being like it is, its
still one of the best games out there. And yes it did a mind numbing on me as well.
Not because I have not heard the story before, more so because I did not expect it because of its scenery and characters and even its graphics it
has a cartoony Disney sureal feel to it almost, not to say that its not a good thing. But because the very same theme has been running for a long
time in my life in pretty much everything and I did not really notice it that much till after I beat this dam game. The character models and there
expressions are right on the dot, and this is the first game were I actually liked escort missions. In every other game I can think of so far the
whole escort mission or babysitting as I call it is just a pain in the ass, most games that try to do that do not pull it off, usually they run
right in front of you or just get in the way, or there AI is so stupid that after a few minutes your swearing at the TV, and after a hour you want to
shoot her, and after a few hours you want to shoot yourself just to get the thing over and done with. But they really added life into Elisabeth and
actually made her not only useful, but the game would be bland and lame without her, in fact you plain forget that she is supposed to be a supporting
character, Elisabeth is definitely one of the most memorable characters in any game, and really to not spoil the story but the game really is about
her ultimately.
But the ending...um ya, I did not expect it even though it is a reoccurring thing, in fact the previous game I played Dragons Dogma and many other
things before it had the same sort of ending theme to it. In all, this is the best Bioshock out there, and one of the best games out there, and if
your not playing it, you should get your ass off ATS and do so now, the game does come of a bit ridiculous at first but you soon forget all that as
the world is really immersive, there literally is a story written on every wall you pass and every character you meet, with so many details that its
hard to play the game and not just stop and look at the things around you, and people would have to play the game a few times and really watch the
things the characters say, or the things you see and find for the story to really click in. In fact I will have to replay this game again just to
answer some things about the story that elude me.
The game is beautiful and brilliant like the op said. But the only thing I can say about the ending is...Quantum entangling can sometimes be a
bitch, but cutting those entanglement strings is the real trial and the real hell. What was that quote at the beginning of the game...
