snake like fish found in vietnam - tsuchinoko?

Sorry if this have been posted before (didn't find anything in the search engine, so I assume it wasn't posted). The news is from november 2012. Perhaps animal experts can tell me what this is? Just for fun though, it reminds me of the tsuchinoko. What do you think?

Yup, that's a snakehead alright. We had one in our local pond and they literally drained it just to catch and destroy that mother before it ate every single species living there. They don't make good pets...

I had one in my old tank. nasty bugger. we had, at the time, an african aba knife. it was over a foot long and they are, themselves, pretty mean. it would bite anyone who tried to clean the tank. they hunt with some kind of sonar and watching it strike when we'd put the goldfish in was a thing of beauty.
