I'm weird and don't fit into this world very well. I'm so thankful for this site. I have my opinions regarding current events and my opinions are usually in the minority. It is really nice to come on here and run into like minded individuals. While there is a lot of debate on this site and people who disagree with eachother on a constant basis (!!!!) it is still nice to have a place to come to like this to be able to simply be yourself.

It is like a Thinkers Club isn't it? I consider there to be two types of people, the ones that know or are awake, and the sheep or "general population."
When you meet a person who knows how the world really works and questions everything it is like meeting a long lost friend. In RL I have one such friend she and I talk for hours about all the taboo subjects. ATS is like having 280,836 friends who know what the hell you are talking about and can hold a intelligent conversation.

Can you tell me more about these types? What have they awoken to? Who do they see? Why are they simply just not asleep and dreaming, or still yet unable to see clearly?

What makes them awake, that you can define them separately from everyone else?

I think you'll find there are many types of awake. Some you reach with knowledge, some with observation, and some yet, with age.

some times you think you're awake only to realise you've been fast asleep and other times you stop dead in your tracks and realise that it's all a load of baloney and if this is all there is, why?

What is awake.

Around the people, you are the wierd. Sometimes you can see in their eyes how painful is to listen to you, even if it's for their good, they show little interest.

.....but you rather die than become one of them. We are "The wierdest, the proud".....,the web marines.

I agree with you whole heartily ...ATS is my place to learn, discuss, agree, disagree, cry, laugh and enjoy; a place to gain knowledge and perhaps impart some. I think we are all very fortunate that we have a place to come and discuss...well...just about anything!

You are here to learn the truth and then question that truth until you are 100% positive you know the whole story. Being awake to the fact that its not all sunshine and rainbows out there as the media portrays the happy go lucky modern family life style, we are looking at both sides of the story hell we look at all 8 sides of the story. An awake person isn't fooled by the MSM answer that misleads the masses into thinking either everything is fine or that a terrorist is on the loose which ever direction the stock markets need a push.

Bottom line. Being awake means your eyes are open to all possibilities and you seek out the truth no matter what strange path it leads you on.

The truth is always the truth, even if you don't believe it.

When out in society you have to act normal. Act is the word that is important. When you awaken it is a good thing but remember that there are a very lot of people out there that are not aware that they are doped. Some are aware and still choose to eat the foods that dope them up so they don't have to act. There is a section of the brain that when stimulated can make people more creative and think out of the box. I just read an article about this area on Science Daily. Some foods and spices can suppress this area by lowering metabolism. I think it was by the left temporal lobe.

You aren't weird, you are just different. Don't go doing anything radical or threatening or they will drug you up.

You people are all a bunch of crazy nuts! What's strange is I was talking about how crazy those ATS wierdos are to the molemen that live in my crawlspace just this morning. Hey but I love you all anyway! Best!

Totally agree with you I lurked for years and finally felt so strong about an issue I had to sign on. Even though I don't post much means I have problems with writing due to how I was raised, the abuse and the Military School I attended for 4th, 5th and 6th grade. To say how lucky I am is to say that one of the 5 families I boarded with taught me how to read at a very early age. I was forced out as they tried to blackmail my mother into adopting me. I was wanted. That is not the point the point is that they taught me how to read between 4 years and 6! To understand the why I point this out is many of my brothers who went to the same violent Military School as myself had to take special reading course when returning to the main stream.

I served 3 full years. Many stayed longer. I did not start to learn till I went to a privileged High School named Justin High School in Napa. I was already thinking but had no tools. Very lucky to have a Brother take interest in me and stayed my advisor for 3 of the 4 years. Forced to take a GED so I would not be a further expense! No senior year for me.

So that is why I don't write and I love this site as many of us feel the same way and those who don't and are not trolls I respect you. Why because all of you guys minus the trolls force me to examine my true feelings. Not since Justin where they taught me proper values, Thank you Mr. Grobel who did 3 - 4 years in Peace Corps rather than go in to the army, he taught us to examine ideas and how to think. Thank you Sir!

So OP you have found a home that many of us are at peace albeit the topics that sometimes comes up is worrying. It is far better to have ones head out of the sand contemplating the issues than to be like my soon to be ex wife who rather not know.

I guess I should also be thanking my brothers and sisters here who are like minded (not necessarily in views) that this is an important site to spend many hours of each day in.

Thank you that a star for you. What takes someone two mins to write (lol at me) takes me 20 mins to decide if and when I do tons of time in rewrites as grammar for me is a foreign language! Those years in school I was just trying to survive. I am in awed of the many thinkers here. I feel I don't belong but abused people don't think highly of themselves. I have in my life given far more than I have received but I don't fit anywhere. American living in the UK.... BUT I do think and cannot turn it off. Its words of wit which I am a serious not a funny person are hard to form. I hate using the word I as it makes me feel self centered when givers are not at all.

I have 1.33 stars per post. Stars are meaningless but for me again LOL it gives me a feeling of acceptance. Not big headed - no accepted - there is a huge diff. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your reply. Normally I would send this in a U2U..... Just thought I do it in the thread cause I have viewed to many trolls lately and you make a difference again IMHO!

We who may not have been accepted in life or feel that way does not mean we are without value. I am totally overwhelmed by the post at times in ATS and proud to be a member!

People who think outside the box have been labeled a lot of things all throughout the history....There will be years after they die that the masses start to get the idea....Most people like to fit in and emulate and believe the main stream just to stay on the safe side.Others don't even care and are too busy making the ends meet..And then there are the minorities who are eager to know more and criticize and question everything.. The last group are always misunderstood and sometimes outcast by the rest...Only time will reveal the truth...Cheers.

Even those members that I tend to disagree with 100% of the time occasionally come up with comments that are nothing short of brilliant. That makes this place pure gold to me.

It is a strange, yet heartwarming phenomenon when like-minded people are drawn to the same place, connect with each other, communicate and express emotions and thoughts; blessing us, we, the social outsiders, the minority of the population or the rarities among the ordinaries to become socially accepted in an (arguably) more sophisticated, yet too often divided, community.

I know exactly what you mean when you write that this is where you wholeheartedly can be yourself!

Just for you one more conspiracy cartoon that I was just sent to by a friend who laughs at me and my thoughts on where this world is heading. Once again we have members who challenge our thoughts on ideas few in the world contemplate so some of our true friends do the same..... The lady who sent this to me is 7th Day who believes we are living at end of times. Her Church in the last 200 years have made several "Wrong" Predictions. Have not many of our members here in ATS???? Does not mean that they are wrong. Think of George Orwell's book 1984.... Are we not almost totally there now albeit 29 later than his book predicted!?!?

To me there is a joke the advent of the computer is what has added "Big Brother" to be where we are today. Anyone old enough to remember the first Apple Computer Commercial? Here it is for all to see!!!!

Hadn't seem that video before! The reference to the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil in Apple's logo is rather mysterious too..!

And if that wasn't enough, the company taking over the market now is "Android". *facepalm*

I bet the next popular product will be a wireless, constanly wi-fi connected computer, no larger than a grain of rise that can be implanted in one's hand or forehead and the company that produces it will probably be called either "beast", "baphomet", "goat", "devil, "demon", "serpent", "nephilim", "alien", "illuminati" or even "satan"!

And the modell title will probably be "mark 222x3" lol!
