everyone remembers close encounters, its a classic (and this brings to the point, the youth of today shall never see the quality in movies that we had back in the days )

Back in my days, Movies were original and not sequels and prequels and remakes

Aww that was a brilliant opportunity for a 'still a better love story than twilight' joke and no one took it.

Those of us who REMEMBER it sure. Those born AFTER it though? No. Today's youth would find it "boring" instead of thought provoking. I'm not saying they're dumb. In some ways, they're a lot more savvy than we were...but their ideas of entertainment are drastically different than ours. Some things are universal, and maybe it would play to today's youth audience, but I doubt it.

Maybe because the love story in twilight is the SAME as many other such novels?
Forlorn girl is inexplicable irresistible to TWO supernatural guys = Twilight, Vampire Diaries, True Blood, etc., etc.

It's incredibly formulaic (and the other two series are far better stories, because they feature vampires that are more plausible at least)
