Humanity is already more collective.

20 years ago could you and I have this exchange? The internet is disolving bounderies.

As technology advances, more and more bounderies will fall, and the world will become smaller and smaller.

It was previously a “well-kept secret” that received little promotion from state officials or fanfare in the media, according to the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association.

Just to be followed by this;

A February 2012 press release from Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s office first publicly announced the tip line, saying it was designed to “encourage citizens to report illegal firearm possession.”

It's hard to maintain a "well-kept-secret" when you're making press releases on the very subject.

I live so far away from NYC it's not even funny.

I don't have any 32oz sodas, but I do have two 16 oz ones

I think it's facinating how a civilization evolves. Early in the course of a civilization, people all pitch in for the common good and life is very communal. We can see this today with the Amish.

As a civilzation grows, people tend to become more self-reliant and selfish. As resources become more and more scarce, people disconect and withdraw into their own worlds.

If the civilization doesn't destroy itself, it'll come back full circle and be more communal.

I don't know about you, but a future like Star Trek's United Federation of Planets would be pretty awesome -- and that's a pretty socialist government style.

The eight men convicted of an Amish hate crime in Ohio have been assigned to prisons scattered across the United States, the U.S. Bureau of Prisons said.

Bishop Samuel Mullet, 67, leader of the Bergholz, Ohio, group who was prosecuted with 15 of his followers for a series of beard- and hair shearing attacks on perceived enemies of the breakaway sect, was notified last weekend he had been "re-designated" to a prison in Texarkana, Texas.

His three sons, and three other men convicted in the attacks, have been assigned to prisons in Minnesota, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and Illinois instead of Lisbon, Ohio, the facility nearest their community, The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reported Tuesday.

Mullet received a 15-year sentence. The others were sentenced to 2- to 7 years in prison.

Sorry to burst your bubble. But those fifteen year prison sentences handed down to the Amish Mafia bosses weren't scripted. Those were very REAL prison sentences.
