The vet wrote a scathing letter to Bush and Cheney. I'd of thought he'd at least send a copy to Obama. Bush no longer has the power to stop the Mideast wars. Bush had nothing to do with Libya. The whole Arab Spring thing. The whole 'sending the troops into Africa' thing. Etc...Etc...Etc...
Well, anyway. Obama wasn't included in any mailing.
I would not be writing this letter if I had been wounded fighting in Afghanistan against those forces that carried out the attacks of 9/11. Had I been wounded there I would still be miserable because of my physical deterioration and imminent death, but I would at least have the comfort of knowing that my injuries were a consequence of my own decision to defend the country I love.
The future of humanity is going to be more collective. We're all humans on this spinning rock, and in order to not destroy ourselves we're going to have to see ourselves as "world citizens".

Blah...Blah...Blah...it's all fascism.
Okay...I'll take the fascism with the Second Amendment.
You take the fascism where the Mongol hordes come riding down on your defenseless village to steal your crops and to bind you all up to be taken and sold into slavery.
Mussolini did make the trains run on time.....edit on 21-3-2013 by coltcall because: (no reason given)

It's hard to respect death bed apologies. That soldier doesn't actually apologize for his part in the war, but berates the government for fooling him into fighting it, IMO.
So now he's sorry, that he joined, that he went, that he participated. And he's going to die and now he's upset. Could have complained before now. If he had, he would be discharged dishonorably for it, kept his health and lived to complain about it longer.
Sorry if that seems insensitive to his plight. I was of age (barely) during the first Gulf war and I opted out, because I saw the injustice of it.
