I did a search and didn't find this posted yet, Moderators please close if I missed it.

I live at the southern tip of New Jersey. I was sitting in my office around 3pm yesterday and felt a tremor. The whole building shook for a few seconds and ended kind of in a final large boom (physical, not audible). Ten minutes later I felt another rumble that was not as intense as the first. According to an article ( www.nbc40.net... ) in the local paper it was felt in Cape May, Atlantic and Cumberland counties which is a fairly wide spread area. Local geologists say it was not an earthquake and air bases in the Atlantic City area say no super sonic aircraft were in the air. Anyone local feel this? Any ideas on possible causes?

Haha, I guess I better find a rock to climb up on.

When I was doing my search I did notice there seemed to be yearly reports of this same thing. October 2012 and November 2011, as well as, early 2009. Maybe there is something moving around underground southern New Jersey.

Yes. I did a quick search and found a few people describing it as coming from the ocean in the 2011 occurance. What could that possibly imply?

They just moved mine out of this forum and into Fragile Earth. I wonder if the Search ran while it was being moved for having missed it? That's an interesting quirk if that's the case. You'd think the keywords would have hit just about any way it was entered though? odd...

As a matter of fact, my last post was on a thread I made, which I am gonna add here, so you can check it out. My last entry was on the 14 th of this month. I felt it here at my home in SJ. I have no clue WTH is going on, but it's unnerving....

Wrabbit, don't know why that didn't come up in the search, but thanks for linking. Moderators can close this and I can post on yours. Thanks for your link jrcb. I have felt these in our area before, but the one yesterday packed more punch than I felt before. I actually considered getting out of the building.

I just wondered if there are any old mines in the area, or underground bunkers for that matter.
Fracking is out because there are no applicants, officially at least.

Yeah, well I actually did run out the front door, because I thought the back of my house was gonna slide into the earth!! Terrifying, especially when it's late, dark, and half asleep!! There's also a few posts I added about my dogs reaction, my dog did indeed react to the trembling. She was frantic, growling, and looking up, towards the sky....hope this helps!
