Toronto, Ontario.

I had no problems with doctors.

I ask for something, they will say NO, then i will say i having this and this problem because of it, i get send to specialist.

For example, i suffered from vertigo. I went to doctors, got meds, got vertigo 2nd time, was send for sleep study and MRI.

They can't give out free MRI to everyone for everything.

I think, this is just my opinion, if you are like 60+, you will have trouble getting tests, but if you are under 35~, you can get it in a flash. Not sure if thats normal.

The thing about medicine, is that it professes to be a science, when really, it's an art form. If it were a science, then the same treatment would work for people with the same parameters.

That isn't the case. Therefore, it's up to the artist to try and "guess" (based on his knowledge) the right treatment.

There's a reason they call it a "practice"......

It's called (a) "practice in making money"

Yeah...I trust our Vet way more than any doctor. At least he'll give it to us straight whether or not a horse or dog, etc. really NEEDs something. He's more of a horse specialist, but treats all animals...and doesn't really charge for advice, etc. Don't get me wrong, it ain't cheap to use him when something is really dire (like a horse colic), but at least we know we aren't getting something we don't actually need for the animals.

Now, a human colic, no big deal, but for a horse...well, it's the leading cause of premature death. We almost lost our most prized horse, but we got her through it, and she's fine now. Of course, was also an $800 vet bill (and was on a holiday, 4th of July).

Back to the doc thing though...ask 5 different doctors for an opinion, and you'll get 5 different solutions for treatment. Just how in the hell is that science?

Each treatment becomes a business quote. They are trying to sell you a contract but don't tell you all the costs up front. They want you to trust them because they have a phD in Medicine. I am sure they treat people for a living, but treat people as customers for repeat business (because they know their first treatment won't work...it is just a bait for you to bite onto so that you become dependent on future doctor's orders and recommendations....hence repeat business and the cycle continues)

No necessary public services should be ran for profit imo.

It's not in the Dr's best interest to make you well, when their living relies on you being sick.

Medical costs in the US are just ridiculous, they're inflated because it's primarily paid for by insurance.

The whole system is screwed. Ambulance drivers will talk you into going to the ER, even if you don't need to, in order to pick up that bill.

When profit gets involved it becomes about nothing but making money.

Not all doctors work to earn money . There are many who joined this profession to help the poor and needy .

Two of the biggest mistakes people make when it comes to their health are (1) dehydration and (2) improper dietary pH, usually through the excess consumption of sugar, fat, salt and white flour products.

Acidic blood creates conditions for a whole slew of medical problems, but doctors can't make much money by telling you to simply eat right!

I love these posts.

If your life is at risk make sure you don't trust a Doctor because as you said they are only in it for the money.
Come to the hospital where I work and spend some time in the EDER spewing that out.

Like any profession, whatever you do, whatever I do, a banker, lawyer, author, teacher, actor their are people that abuse whatever power they have.

My father had sepsis and I will tell you what, I am 10000000% glad I trusted not one but multiple doctors to get him past it. Please don't try and pass me some BS about I could have looked it up on the web and treated him with essential oils because all the people here railing against Doctors I am sure will rely on one when they are truly in a desperate medical situation

This thread is about doctors who operate a private medical clinic. I have not mentioned anything about hospitals.

Doctors who run their own practices are in it for the money. Plain and simple.
