I made a cool little video out of boredom this morning. If you haven't seen The Patriot, DON'T watch the video. SPOILERS!
War is a racket nowadays.
In the colonial days, it was the PEOPLE governing their war. The PEOPLE in the government. It was the CITIZENS fighting so they didn't have to bow to
the oppressive government. That's not to say that the war back then wasn't a racket for SOMEone, but it was needed for the first Americans to
establish their freedoms.
Now look at our culture.
We've got little bratty kids who cry because they get the wrong kind of iPhone for christmas. We've got wars being fought in other countries so our
evil machine of a government can get its hands on their oil and build walmarts in their land. Our citizens fighting wars nowadays are fighting for our
government's greed, NOT so we can "keep our freedoms."
Look up the laws and ask yourself. What freedoms?
"The Pride" by Five Finger Death Punch is an amazing song, a montage of all things that make up our modern America.
The pride our forefathers won our country with was simply so our culture could degenerate into ignorant sheeple, pimps, whores, and
government-worshiping drones?
Everything they mention in "The Pride" is modern.
It is, alternatively, what our fore fathers laid a foundation for.
We don't deserve American pride anymore.
I LOVE that our country has zillions of opportunities and stability. I ADORE it.
I am grateful.
But proud?
Not anymore.
Not since I started learning the dark realities of how the world works.
But I will not overlook the hypocrisy in how our people are governed.
The colonials fought so we didn't end up like we are now, only under a British government.
Also, after I threw this video together this morning and uploaded it to youtube, it said "Video blocked in some countries", so some of you may
not be able to see it, sadly.
Just wanted to share a thought with ATS.

I agree, it has been a very long time since our Govt. has given us anything to be proud of.
In fact I can't think of a single thing that occurred during my lifetime.
Maybe one day enough people will figure it out.
Probably not, but hey...we can have hopes and dreams can't we?
I really enjoy that movie. Honestly, its not very good, very cookie cutter writing, and the climax scene is downright corny. But the performances, and
the underlying theme (that militias are the reason this country is free) are great.
I do wish they would have harped the militia point a little more, though.
