So i will tell my story.

I went to Nova Scotia to help a friend's son.
He got in over his head with a house he bought and we (meaning his Dad and I) went down to do the work and flip the house over for more money to pay his debts.

The first day there,I lost my wallet.
My only concern was my company credit cards.
I was sweating until head office opened so i could get them cancelled....I was afraid someone was going to use the company card and rip us off. (typical me)

The people from that area were really nonchalant about it while I was freaking.
They kept saying "don't worry about it,there are alot of honest people here"

My thoughts....YEAH RIGHT!!

Today my wallet arrived in the mail with everything intact!!

Days like this make me realize that not all people are douchebags.

There ARE some really good people out there! I'm glad you got your wallet back. Restores a bit of your faith in people, huh?

Totally agree. They're are decent honest people out there. Back in the mid 90s me and my wife hit a bad time where we had to rely on state benefits for a while. We had just drawn £250 to live off for 2 weeks from the local post office in cash. When we arrived home we realised we had lost the purse with the cash in. We were devastated. It was 2 days later when the police had contacted us. An elderly lady had handed the purse into the police station with everything intact. She requested to remain anonymous but we were eternally grateful all the same

Good for you, Drums. I've returned a few wallets in my day. Just make sure that when the situation is reversed that you do the same. Don't EVER send missing wallets or purses to a lost & found. Wallets and purses will just get picked through when you send it to a lost & found. ALWAYS return things either in person or by mail.

Pass it on, pay it forward.

This is a great story!

Nice to see an honest person is still out there. Most of the time the wallet is ditched and nobody makes any attempt to contact the owner. Nice to see good people out there still exist! Gives me hope for this crazy world we live in.

I found a wallet full of money, about $5000 and returned it. The guy was shocked and in turn gave me a reward. It was his money for vacation and he was surprised that someone returned it. I told him it wasn't mine to keep. I knew if I had lost that much money on my vacation I'd be really upset and hope it would be returned. I did advise him not to carry his entire stash of money on him for vacation and to put it in the bank or somewhere safe.
I winded up hanging out with this person and had a couple drinks with him and his friends he traveled with. They were from some mid-west state here for vacation. They were super nice people.

Today I am bumping this thread with glee....it was my turn today.

I recently found some old WW2 medals in an old storage locker. (5 in total)
After pondering my options,I decided to do what I thought should be done.

I just came back from veteran's affairs after turning them in.
In the beginning, the soldier I bumped into out front had a kind of bad attitude.
When I told him why I was there,he tossed his almost full cigarette and personally took me to where I had to go.

I gave them to a lady and when I was walking away he said "thank you,you did the right thing" to which I replied "I hope so" and walked out the door.

If getting my wallet back was karma, returning these medals was my receipt.
