Strange "whooshing" sounds in skies of South East London

I've been hearing strange "whooshing" sounds in the skies of SE London again tonight. I have heard these sounds many times in the past usually in London and they last for 10 - 30 seconds and it sounds like a plane flying really low with a very loud engine. But it isn't a plane and starts suddenly and ends abruptly. Sometimes it sounds like loud rumbling.

Has anyone else ever heard anything like this specifically in London?

It is puzzling me!
