Hi guys
As some of you know I have Israeli citizenship and served in the IDF

In my my unit we all treated kids as kids firm but fair, fire fights were dealt with as and when necessary, lethal force if required, but only if required.Riots were put down with minimal force. We were taught to always leave the enemy a way out and let them run, you can catch them later. A cornered animal is a dangerous animal.

What can I say ? Where the hell did it all go wrong ?

If this is true, what the hell happened Israel ? Although you never showed the outside world. You used to have morals.

JERUSALEM - Palestinian children detained by the Israeli military are subject to widespread, systematic ill-treatment that violates international law, a UNICEF report said on Wednesday.

The United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) estimated that 700 Palestinian children aged 12 to 17, most of them boys, are arrested, interrogated and detained by the Israeli military, police and security agents every year in the occupied West Bank.

According to the report, most of the youths are arrested for throwing stones. Israel says it takes such incidents seriously, noting that rock-throwing has caused Israeli deaths.

moral degradation happens when the side knows its doing wrong yet continues to keep doing it.
Its the 'fear of the Pharoh.' A tyrant is always worried of a backlash and by its behaviour which is influenced by that worry, it actually makes it come true.

Someone like you gives me hope that there are people in Israel who still have morals.

Trust me on this one there are.
Unfortunately they are not the ones calling the shots.
The guys in charge have some kind of God complex at the moment

I realise you are trying to speak out against the brutality against children by Israeli authorities, so i hope this doesn't sound too harsh, it is becoming increasingly prevalent among Israeli soldiers, probably influenced by propaganda from higher ups, to consider Palestinians as something less than Human. Animals or sub-Humans would be a fair assesment of opinions i've noticed on video clips of Israeli soldiers i've seen.

Although, i hope you meant it as a simple idiom, but your phrase could be interpreted as evidence of similar lingering opinions, either conscious or unconsious in yourself when you said;

A cornered animal is a dangerous animal. What can I say ? Where the hell did it all go wrong ?

I'd argue that reducing Children or anyone else to the status of below that of a Human being, even when making analogies etc. might be a contributary factor in the de-humanising of Palestinian kids.

Jews know the wisdom of this better than many, or they should.

It was purely used as an idiom.
My apologies if it came across in another way, you are however correct in your assesment, my boy lives on a pro arab kibbutz and I am personally appaled at his veiws, It's the one thing we argue about.

Teenagers

I hope he realises he is his father's son and not a product of an increasingly racist state before he is called up for active service.

Star for you my friend
