I think one of the biggest conspiracies is people have been taught that 'dieting' means a temporary change in eating habits. This is wrong, bad, unhealthy, and every negative thing I can think of.
If you starve yourself for a week, what do you think your body will do when you start eating? It will start storing MORE fat in case you start starving again.
The best, healthiest diet lasts a lifetime. You take in a certain amount of calories every day, and then you BURN them through exercise every day.
Depriving your body of nutrients is never a good thing.
