Ubisoft confirmed the obvious this morning by sharing the European cover art for Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag (i.e. Assassin's Creed 4) and subsequently confirming the game on Facebook.
The next Assassin's Creed installment was outed a few days ago when a GameStop employee photographed and shared a promotional poster that he/she wasn't supposed to. Shortly thereafter, a screenshot and some slim details about the game surfaced including the "pirate" setting that would visit multiple islands in the Caribbean Sea. The game's cover art confirms this setting, which makes perfect sense considering the outstanding ship vs. ship naval battles that were featured in Assassin's Creed 3.
Ubisoft also stated that they will reveal "all the details" about Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag on Monday, March 4 at 6pm CET (i.e. 12pm EST). Based on the covers we can see that the game has been designed for the current-gen Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles, as well as Wii U and the PC. It will be interesting to see if Ubisoft has anything up their sleeves for the now confirmed holiday 2013 Playstation 4 or Microsoft's upcoming new Xbox console.
Pirates? Really?!

Assassin's Creed 3 was epic!!! It was a great game that not only made the AC games fun again, but it introduced naval combat which was brilliantly executed. It was kind of obvious that they were testing the naval gameplay to see how well it would do and it was great! Now with Black Flag they can expand on it and actually make a good pirate themed game because we have NEVER had even a decent pirate game. If you don't like it don't play it and stop complaining.
