BREAKING: HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS ARE MARCHING IN MADRID, SPAIN against Corruption, Bank debts, politicians’ high wages; Spanish POLICE ON ALERT

They are going to demonstrate in front of the House of Representatives. People is fed up with politicians’ corruption and private debt. Far-right and far-left groups are marching along with liberals, libertarians, social-democrats, conservatives, communists, anarchists against the political corruption.

A Government’s representative has said that this demonstration is a coup d’etat. Hope everything goes fine.

Looks like the Spaniards are more fired up than ever. Difficult to determine exactly whats going on. Here are links to live streams:

bambuser.com...

www.livestream.com... (this stream seems to be down at the moment).

Havent seen any mention of it on the wire services. Could it be a deliberate black out?

To the people of Spain, stay strong. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Apart from making themselves hoarse with shouting, the only revolutionary activity I saw last night amongst the demonstrators was their constant, narcisssistic pointing of their cameras towards themselves to capture the moment of their latest public protest for all their relatives and friends back home. When they started getting cold, the demonstrators predictably returned home rather than throw Molotov cocktails, overrun the police lines and storm government offices to end their corrupt, bankster-controlled government. And so it will continue at the next demonstration. A bunch of sheep bleating in protest whilst their lives and futures get blighted and ruined by intangible forces that they cannot confront and overcome.

Is this a model for change. Nah! If protest ever really got to the point of threatening to changed the ruling order, it would be banned and martial law declared. So protest politically all you want - it's just a mechanism permitted by the ruling order for releasing frustration, nothing more. What we are seeing is the gradual destruction of Western society caused by the criminal abuse of its business model by greedy, powerful people. Changing the faces of who sits in parliament pretending to "represent the people" alters things very little because democracy is based upon the illusion that it provides real, alternative choices and that the view of the winning majority is always the wisest and the best.

Exactly.

Does protesting really do anything? Sure you all get together and start holding up signs and yelling for more justice, when in reality, all you are doing is playing into their game.

It's like blaming the President for current issues, you have to look behind the scenes, that's where the corruption is, not some puppet used every 4 years.

You know what we should do? Follow Arron Russo's idea of getting every congressman and senator to sign an alfadavid saying that they will vote to audit the Federal Reserve. But, to be honest, I can't see that happening any time soon.

Protesting is just another trick, a way for real change to not occur. Stop playing into their system!

This was going to come - life there is very hard. I started a thread a few days ago about how professionals such as Locksmiths and Fire Fighters were refusing to assist with evicting people.

When Fire Fighters were called to assist with the eviction of an 85 year old lady - instead of breaking the door down - they joined the neighbours in protesting against the bank for their actions.

Maybe the Spanish people have seen what took place in America and added to their own problems - they have awoken and decided to stand their ground and not be treated like slaves.

Much Peace...to all struggling societies...

True, so true. In this technocracy, the people are even controlled in their massive (so-called) uprisings.

The Spectacle is very strong as a tool of Power. You need a rupture with society to really see a revolt happening. Or else, brainless "Indignados" will keep doing their casual shows of martyrdom, raising their hands in the air when getting beaten by cops, and nothing will change.

The sad truth is that Spain is a retarded society of sheep (like many others) who still conform and worship idols no matter how they are being robbed by the ECB and big corporations.

Once people realize their collective anarchistic power and make it happen, nothing will stop them.

IMHO, I think if protests are to work, they need to be swift and as much as I hate it violent. The violence shoul't come dn from the protesters, but against them. Blood needs to be she by tptb in order for those that don't really know what's going on to actually witness first hand how very little the elite care for humanity.

I've always believed that the situation in Greece was being used as a test bed to see if and how bad things would get, and if they were able to handle/contain the masses then the gears would start to turn in other places.

Not to sound callous, just playing devil's advocate if I was in a position of power, all I've seen so far are some broken bottles, a few fires, and an awful lot of hot air I would smugly assert was contributing to global warming.

Yeah people are pissed over here. This past Saturday was a national protest all over Spain. I got some video of the concentration in my city I will upload today.

Basically this all stems from official announcements by the EU where all agencies in charge of the economic recovery and those instruments in Spain itself released reports admitting that austerity measures are NOT working, that there will be 7% MORE unemployment by next year, almost 30% by then.....that we will not be able to count on reserve monies that will not make it to Spain from the EU since that money no longer exists. Oh, and that we should keep waiting and paying off interest for our bailout packages we already got, but regardless of the inability to do more than just pay a little interest while still generating MORE debt because of the bailout packages, to keep paying and waiting......so people are going nuts.....and talking about killing people....

EDIT:
I dont want to exaggerate the tension here...BUT I dont want to pretend that things are not dangerously close to violence....There are suicides everyday by people being foreclosed on, people going bankrupt from paying for properties that they gave up on long ago after being unemployed and even after giving the banks the keys are forced to finish paying off the debt for a property that they will never own....Banks got a HUGE bailout of public money and they still put the public out on the cold streets, women and children and all.....so people are actually in survival mode...instinct and blood lust....When the mob mentality takes over, as I regrettably fear it will, people will die and banks will burn. Its like that for some people here.

Austerity measures aren't working, lol.

They aren't supposed too. The stupid thing is you can only squeeze a population for so much money before they pour into the streets. Austerity is just trying to figure out what to take from the public next. Sure sign that the EU isn't working to resolve their debt by cutting back spending and try to lower the debt. They don't care, they will spend the nations coffers into ruin. The ruin being the people setting their world on fire in order to finally achieve real change.

Italy, Greece, The Arab revolts, the continued destruction of nations that won't get on board with the World Order...

it's all connected, IMO.

Watched a bit on live stream and I guess they looped previous stuff. Not much of a overthrow of government. More like a peaceful protest. It was the typical 10,000 people watching 6 cops beat up one protestor.

The media is what is there to manipulate you .the net as well as TV>> IF you want to change the world, change yourself and go out there and volunteer to help those that need help..

So what would be more useful, standing outside, holding a sign, and pretending your democracy works.

Or, getting every Congressman and Senator to sign an Alfafavid to audit the Federal Reserve? What would be a long term solution? What would end global slavery faster then, say, eliminating Global Central Banking?

Please, ENLIGHTEN ME.

"Marching"??? Unless they are marching, military-style, to the front lines to enforce some action, this is just more populous crap that will achieve nothing! Running around with cute signs filled with catchy slogans won't change a damned thing! Never has, never will!

Yea the civil rights sit ins, the million man march, and willing self-subjection to police brutality certainly never helped the black folk in America move past segregation. (Sarcasm)

Since occupy wall street failed peaceful protest will never have a real effect on society again. (Sarcasm)

Hey, maybe if we all whine on ATS about sending letters to our Representatives rather than write them ourselves things will change (sarcasm)

We'll teach those self-incinerating monks who's really dedicated to the cause. (Sarcasm)
