A carbomb exploded near a Russian military checkpoint on the outskirts of Grozny, killing one and injuring 3 people. When the injured were brought in to a hospital in Grozny another carbomb exploded outside the hospital, injuring 16 more.

When the victims were brought to Hospital No.9 and were being taken out of an ambulance, another car, parked about three meters from the entrance to the hospital, blew up, injuring another 16 people

Security Service Officers appears to have been the target. Thirteen of the wounded were members of the Chechen presidential security service, headed by Chechen First Deputy Prime Minister Ramzan Kadyrov.
