Hello fellow ats members, today i was searching the internet to acquire more information about the end times and what will happen according to bible prophecy. After watching an interesting video series on youtube about God's timeline and the prophhecied 70 weeks of Daniel i found some interesting information on the subject.
Before you read further please watch the series to understand Gods timeline, it is very important that you watch them first to understand the things i will talk about further.
here you can find a link to the series
for a shorter version watch a serie of 4 videos here

concluding from those videos we can state that the 7-year tribulation started
on the 62 week, back in 2009. the bible states that the tribulation consists of 2 periods of 3,5 years and will end in 2016. so the middle of the tribulation will be on march 22, 2013.

the middle of the tribulation will be marked by the abomination of desolation on march 22.
but what is the abomination of desolation? I also did some research on that and will try to clarify what it will be.

To understand what the abomination of desolation is, we need to follow the clues God gave us in the bible. When we fully understand this prophecy, it is not only fascinating but also chilling.

The first clue is found in luke 21:20

And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.(whoso readeth, let him understand)

Some people misunderstand this verse and assume that the surrounding of jerusalem by armies IS the abomination. But nothing can be further from the truth, the verse says that when jerusalem is surrounded by armies the abomination has not yet happened but that it is nigh. These are 2 different events that occur at different times.

The second clue is found in matthew 24:15

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)...

this verse approaches the subject on a later point in time than luke 21:20, because in matthews account gods people will “see” daniels prophecy fulfilled.

Notice the 2 verses talking about 2 points :
-the armies around jerusalem precede the abomination
-something/someone will be “standing in the holy place”
also note the “whoso readeth, let him understand” in both verses. God inspired both luke and mattew to record this. So God WANTS you to understand

the third clue is found in mark 13:14

But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains...

here mark removes all doubt about the abomination standing in the holy place, and if it is supposed to be there, which it clearly doesn't.
But what exactly is the holy place? It does not reffer to a spiritual but to a literal place. A place which God considers holy in which something unholy/blasphemous is placed.History and other scriptures outside the gospels reveal that this must be an at least partially rebuilt Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.
Those of you who wonder if the abomination is already in place should note the “...then let them that be in judea flee to the mountains”(which did not happen yet) the appearance of the abomination will make Gods people flee, this is crucial to understanding the prophecy. (for those who want to know what happens after this -> jerusalem will be under gentile control for 42 months and the witnesses mentioned in revelation show up. but going in dept on that will only distract you from the point)

the fourth clue can be found in the biblical principle of DUALITY
God usually gives a former fulfillment of prophecy to show us what is to come in the future.
to prove my point watch the daniel 11 prophecy found here

In about 176 BC, Antiochus IV (king of the north, and type of the future final civil ruler who embodies the Beast system) acquired the kingdom from his older brother. After this, Antiochus Epiphanes removed the high priest in Jerusalem and installed someone loyal to himself. Upon a triumphant return from Egypt, in 168 BC, Antiochus sacked the Temple at Jerusalem and took its golden vessels. Recall that Antiochus also sent troops to Judea in 167 BC. They destroyed the Temple and its sanctuary. This act stopped the commanded twice daily sacrifices at the Temple (Ex. 29:39-42; Num. 28:4-6). This was an overt attempt to wipe out the Jewish religion with all of its doctrines. This military leader also stationed a garrison atop the Jewish Temple Mount, desecrating it. Also recall that Daniel wrote, “Yes, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him [Antiochus] the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of [the] sanctuary was cast down” (8:11).

Daniel 11:31 talks about this abomination that makes desolate, Now then, what exactly is this coming “abomination” that will be “set up” again?
remember antiochus' armies coming into jerusalem and putting an idol on the temple altar which defiled the altar and made it desolate? (this is a rethorical question)
Now what was that idol? this is where it gets interesting...

History reveals that the idol antiochus placed in the Temple—or “holy place”—was a statue of Zeus or Jupiter Olympus, the chief deity of pagan Hellenists of Greece and Macedonia.

so i conclude that "probably" the abomination to come will be something similar to this and may have something to do with the next pope based on this inforation

It has been well reported that many centuries ago a statue of the pagan god Jupiter was found in Rome. The large bronze statue was altered and renamed St. Peter.(peter the roman????) One strong indication of this comes from John Parker: “By some writers, it is affirmed to be no other than the statue of Jupiter, with a new head and hands; others stating that this famous statue was melted down by order of Pope Leo I in the middle of the fifth century, and recast into this figure of S. Peter, holding the keys of heaven with one hand, whilst the other is raised in the act of benediction in the Roman manner, with the first and second and fingers extended” (The Archaeology of Rome, p. 38).

Well considering that the Bible states that nobody knows when all this is going to happen why are you thinking you could possibly find the answer?

Wouldn't that be going against what God himself stated?

Its kind of like saying that "yea God says nobody will know but I'm smarter than him and I figured it out."

What if he notices you figured out and just decides to change the date?

did you watch the videos? the jewish calendar is based on the moon. at the end of the last month people would watch the skies for the moon to show up to start a new month. there sometimes was a 48hour timeperiod before they could see the moons crescent form again. this timeperiod is also known to the jews as " the hour no-one knows" please watch the videos before commenting.

Well no offense of course but I could watch every video ever made and it wouldn't change what God says in the Bible.

Matthew 24:36

"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Therefore any mathematical equation that is found is inherently wrong according to the Bible.

What the video is doing, and yes I did peruse it, is taking things totally out of context. This phrase from Matthew is very clear that nobody will know when it will happen.

I understand what you are saying but your dissecting quotes from the Bible and not looking at the overall meaning.

You can do this throughout the whole book if you want but its like not seeing the forest through the trees and is very dangerous to a persons faith if they act in this way.

Obviously the phrase is intended to mean that nobody will know what God's plan is and that's the way he wants it. Even his son won't know.

Do you honestly believe that God would want people to figure this out? Then they could all be sinners up until the point that they know hes coming then repent at the last second.

Kind of screws up the idea of living your life according to faith.

Well to put it bluntly, yes.

Its like the Bible Code, I'm not sure if your familiar with it but its very convincing until you realize that...well...God isn't likely to want people to figure out all his secrets. If he did he would have just stated it in the Bible and not made it some riddle.

God isn't really one to beat around the Bush (no pun intended).

You need to be careful with people who claim they have "figured" something out about the Bible because its a distraction to keep you from the real meaning of what Gods trying to teach you. Everything, and I mean everything you need to know is plainly listed in the text.

There are no hidden meanings and nothing that somebody is going to figure out that God hasn't already placed before you.

However once you confident in your faith, some of these things people come up with can be quite interesting to play around with.

The Bible is not meant to be taken so literal. It can't be taken literal because of the translations from languages and words take on different meanings over time. Also, man put the books together that we call the Bible. Some would argue that there are apocryphal texts that deserve to be part of the cannon. That all doesn't discredit the message that we should receive from reading the Bible though.

Every time I hear "abomination that causes desolation," my mind conjures up an image of an atomic bomb. I even picture scenarios of how it got into a temple; like, terrorists smuggle it into Jerusalem (perhaps in a large statue?
) and set it next to the Dome of the Rock and hold the city hostage with it. "We'll set it off if anyone comes near!" sort of thing. Nuclear weapons certainly fit the description, and there's no way Daniel could have recognized one if he saw it in a vision. The desolation would be physical in that case... once someone set it off.

Then again, it could be "the image of the Beast" that had the ability to move and speak, like a living statue. The desolation would be spiritual in that case, convincing people to worship a thing instead of God. But who would worship a statue in this day and age? They'd worship someone obviously raised from the dead, but a statue? Don't see it.

I've examined the original Greek. "Abomination of desolation" is βδελυγμα της ερημωσεως. Strong's says βδέλυγμα ("BDEL-oog-mah") is "an abomination, a detestation. Specially, idolatry. A foul thing, a detestable thing of idols and things pertaining to idolatry." No hints there, really; both bombs and statues fit it. ερημωσεως is "despoliation; making desolate; desolation." It's in the NT Bible only 3 times: Matt 24:15, Mark 13:14, and Luke 21:20... that "her desolation is near" phrase.

So the word ερημωσεως ("er-AY-mo-se-os") is only used in those two contexts: the abomination, and Jerusalem's downfall. They have to be related, but is it a physical or spiritual downfall? Physical seems most likely to me, but what do I know? And then there's Daniel 11:31. That original is in Hebrew. Here's one "literal" translation:

"And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall profane the sanctuary, even the stronghold, and shall take away the continual burnt-offering, and they shall set up the detestable thing that causeth appalment."

"Appalment?" Something appalling. And detestable. Still could fit both possibilities... but see the start of it? "Arms shall stand on his part." Whose part? The Antichrist's. An armed invasion of the Dome of the Rock is what it implies to me... and nukes are the biggest arms I know of. But here's another "literal" translation:

"And arms from him will stand, and they will profane the Sanctuary, the stronghold, and they will remove the daily sacrifice, and place a silent abomination."

(What happened to not changing one jot or tittle, huh guys?? Anyway...) So now it's silent too? A silent detestable appalling thing. But it's interesting that nowhere does it say anyone worshipped this mysterious abomination. That's only what people infer, at best.

So what seems most likely to you guys, given the original scriptures in-context? A statue or likeness of the Antichrist, or a nuclear warhead? Any other possibilities I'm missing?

Have NOT looked at the video yet but am trying to get some ideas about the author.

Here is what I have found so far:

One thing is for sure, doomsday dates will continue to be published by people until that end time finally does come upon us. Although the bulk of this article has plenty of ammunition against believing in all future doomsday dates that may come down the pike, sometimes a little bit of debunking specific to the date in question helps. For example, for Daniel's Timeline, I show that Dewey Bruton uses the wrong length of a Jubilee Cycle in his calculations. An error in your assumptions can only lead to an error in your conclusion.

2008 Update

With the passing of time since I first wrote this in 2007, it is now clear to me that Daniel's Timeline's is indeed wrong in its conclusion as well as its methodology. In other words, it is safe to say even now in late 2008 that it cannot happen--if you know the missing prerequisite events from the prophecy roadmap as covered in my book. Read this new article on 2012 for details.

2012 Update

I still get emails about this video. This amazes me since there are less than five years left until the year Dewey predicted Jesus' return, 2017. This leaves no time for all the events that must happen before his return in the first half of the 70th week to happen, also known as the "Beginning of Sorrows." This includes the devastation of Star Wormwood, which would come in 2013 if 2017 were the end of the Great Tribulation. By now the world would already be hearing the warning of a prophet about the need to move to safety. We would also have seen the Middle East War.

Don't know if this has been posted, but Dewey passed on about a year ago, RIP Dewey.
Though, he will be watching the end times from a different view point.

This comment below one of 9Nania's video's made just a few days ago says that Dewey is still living:

(BTW 9Nania, who is the author of the below video, is the one that predicted the March 11 Japan quake)

I really believe 3/22 may be very important. Obama will make his first visit to Israel just before Passover and will be in Jerusalem on March 22!! I just spoke with Dewey Bruton via email to see if he knew about this and he does. He believes that we are certainly living in very interesting times and that we will see very soon what is to happen. Also, just a sidenote, skull and bones secret society logo number is 322. The elite are into numerology. Could this number be important to them?

Umm the video series is quite off. For one thing, the great tribulation is only 3 1/2 years long, not 7. It's the last half of Daniel's 70th week. And Daniel's 70th week could not have begun in 2009. The first Gog-Magog war comes before that, as does the building of the 3rd temple.

The best two teachers I have ever come across on the subject are Dr. Chuck Missler and Perry Stone Jr. Their videos can be found in several places.

no love, the 'tribulation didnt start in 09 '
people who make that claim, do not understand nothing of Evil
[ and, consequently, nothing of God, neither ]

see,
over and over again, He talks about ' a time, as the world hasnt seen yet '
or ' woe to those, who wait [ = want] that time: because it will be a time like the world never has seen '

so.... by default, it CANNOT have started in 09.

why?
because this dark time will be one of another dimensional nature;
that is, ' light' for those who do not believe Him,
but Darkness for those who dó.

...the first white horse is ' bringing this next dimension ' - Evil s
and this dimension will cause also the very human body to change,
...simply because the higher energies will affect the human body as well.
[ and no im not talking new age here but simple fact. ]

...these creational energies - but now under Evils rule -
will rule the body via the chakras [ aura ]
..hence the ' abomination which is desolation ' ;

" desolation " always means that " something is without Him ".

here meaning,
the human He created, is being ruled by energies what are ruled by Evil.

the ' third temple ' is a hoax;
it is ment as " replacing prophecy by a non-event "
- just like present ' israel' is a false fulfillment of genuine prophecy.

or better: the third temple hoax is a fleshy [false] fulfillment of a spiritual prophecy
[ = see previous post ]

...like this 'israel ' is a fleshy [ false] fullfillment of a spiritual prophecy,
[ a mockery, as you will ]

likewise,
'gog ' has *nothing* to do with ' russia'
nor ' russia attacking this present israel'
....that is but ' the one hoax attacking the other' .

no
'gog' is egypt
in fact: gog is the ruler of the nile
meaning: the egyptian pantheon - pharaos one -
but today very much alive still:
because THERY are the power behind this present ' israel ' !!

you see the connection ?
..He isfurious, because gog - the egyptian pantheon - is sedUCING so many believers into his ' present israel / gog/russia ' HOAX.

...gog = satan
magog= deluded humanity under stans rule
and those 2 will fight Him when he comes back AFTER the trib
to claim earth that is His '.

Some hoax.. it's talked about in both the old and new testaments and Jesus Himself said it would be pivotal in the sign to flee Jerusalem.

Sorry if that offends, but I trust Christ and the prophets.

And did I say Gog is Russia?
Gog is a powerful fallen angel.
