Can't connect to ATS - please read

I found nothing strange in the host file.
I deleted a couple of things and saves in notepad (not as a save as) - anyway - it didn't change anything but I really appreciate your help and your patience. You've got a great 'helpful' attitude when extending a hand to people and that really makes a bad situation better. If not perfect - a lot better. Thank you again.

Oh gosh! Maybe your overall security settings are blocking it? Ad blocker? Have you updated your ATS profile? (Im grasping at straws here I know but...just trying to help you!)

Ya know that's strange that you ask - I did just update my profile.
Any ideas why that would change my connection abilities? Or how to fix it!

Also a note here that might help - or not - I was on ATS in the morning and left my computer on - I only closed the ATS page. When I came back to the computer after about an hour - I clicked on my browser, up came google and from there - no go to ATS.

Hey...Ive no real clue. But my wife can break a new computer before it ever gets out of the box. Its always....and I mean always...some cutsie site she signed into, accepted, joined, or game played, or blocked, or changed the sec. settings on, or "Oh. OK! I dont want any ads so Ill just cl---...."...and that alone changed the sttings for all kinds of regular-visted sites.

Im not sure about your situation....but I do think it could be yours somehow, someway, that affected some other visited site...and in-directly, you locked yourself out of going back in.

Either that? Or its the squirrels.....!

This may be reaching a bit but I'll ask anyway: Does your anti-virus program do automatic updates? If so maybe when it updated virus definitions it found something about ATS that fit, especially if you have made ATS an exception on your Ad blocking add ons. One of the advertisers may have caused it. I'm not technically inclined so I usually use the process of elimination- as I'm sure you are doing. Can't figure out why it wouldn't block access while using a proxy server as well though. I think you require the advice of a techie.

if you get something like that then you can reach the ATS end, now theres other reasons that can affect internet access but it starts to get technical and very boring

Maybe someone at the ATS server can do a tracert to Your pc... Wouldn't that be nice??

One of the best things to try is to burn yourself a linux live cd and boot off it and try and see if you can connect as its a read only medium it cant be changed and if you muck something up a reboot will make it all back to square one, it can take a few mins to boot up and you need to be able to answer a few basic questions that shouldn't scare anyone but the biggest technophobe as it won't alter anything on your hard drive

And sometimes having such a boot disk can be useful should windows get completely hosed you can just plug in an external drive and copy your stuff off and then just nuke and restore windows

It cleared up for a bit - but I'm back on not being able to connect directly and it's really getting to be old.
Any ideas?
