Where does common sense play into the equation?
Cop or not, anyone who trash talks another person like that deserves what is coming to him/her. It was a justified abuse of "power," if one would even call it that. If it was his peers outside of his door and he was talking like that to them I don't doubt for a second they would have barged in and kicked his ass.

Cops are people. They aren't impervious to their emotions.

Let's say this jackass student didn't belittle the police. What if he complied with them or simply asked for a warrant instead of causing a scene and putting it on YouTube?
