Some things to know about the ITCCS.

The basics in a nutshell
Pope Benedicts sudden, out-of-the-blue resignation has led to a number of speculations involving child abuse cover-ups and what not. One "organization" that has been pushing such speculations and conspiracy is this group called the ITCCS.

Even here on ATS, the ITCCS are being quoted as if they were an authority.

Some things to know about the ITCCS?
- "They" call themselves the International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State.
- According to their own website, they were established in June 2010
- Despite being an "international tribunal", the tribunal members page on their website features only ONE person.... Acting Secretary: Kevin D. Annett, M.A., M.Div. (Canada)

So who is Kevin D.Annett? And why is he running this campaign against the retired Pope?

1. To bring to trial those persons and institutions responsible for the exploitation, torture and murder of children, past and present, and
2. To stop these and other criminal actions by church and state.]

The abuse, trafficking, torture and murder of children appears endemic to European culture, and continues to be actively practiced, and condoned and protected, by church, state, judicial and police forces around the globe.

Two of the main practitioners of this genocide of the innocent – the Vatican and the Crown of England

Now, I agree that those who abuse children should be brought to justice.
However, this tribunals Kevin D. Annets obsession with the Popes resignation and focus on only the Vatican and the crown of England, raises a few red flags. Reason being, for an "international tribunal" they seem rather narrowly focused on the Vatican. I cant help but think he has an agenda. Unfortunately, a lot of people have fallen for ITCCS's smear campaign against the Vatican and the resigned Pope.


This thread will serve only as a starting point.
I am not claiming to have all the answers... or know everything about the ITCCS and Kevin Annet. In fact, I have never heard of this guy until today. It would be better if we, for the sake of being objective, stop getting over emotional and allow our biases / passions take reign of our judgement. Lets dig a little deeper and find out what the ITCCS, Kevin Annets one man "tribunal" is all about... before jumping to conclusions. Let us not blindly buy into whatever flashy campaign that appears on the web.
We all remember the organization called "Invisible Children" and their Kony 2012 campaign, don't we?

There's no indication that the "group" is anything but Annett, who is clearly certifiable. From last September:

As John Deegan and the ITCCS said this week to Damian O’Reilly and his church bosses, the Vatican must do two simple things if it wants to avoid ongoing occupations: defrock all present and future child raping priests, and those who protect them; and make every clergy and church officer, from Pope Benedict on down, take a public, binding oath to protect children from predators and expose those who harm the innocent, even if doing so contradicts and defies church laws and customs.

If the hierarchy equivocates on this requirement of humanity and the law, or says no, then direct actions against the Vatican and its churches will commence in one week.

In this event, our Common Law Court will publicly convene in seven countries on September 15, to publicly share and judge extensive evidence of criminal actions by church and state. The following day, in the midst of Catholic masses around the world, a Public Banishment Order will be issued, binding on every catholic establishment. Church occupations will then follow.

The Banishment Order will, in effect, expel the Catholic Church from our communities and declare their churches and other property open to all people for their own use, like the homeless. Yeah, the seizure of Catholic churches around the world and arrest of church officials. Remember when that happened?

Seriously, this guy is a crackpot on a grand scale. To have written that, and actually believed that it would come to pass is lunacy. Frankly, it's a disservice to those who really have been harmed by the church, because it tends to diminish the impact of their real claims, when diluted by idiots such as this.

I looked into these people last night.

Their "official page" is nothing more than a Wordpress blog. Pretty professional, it speaks volumes as to their legitimacy.

They remind me of that group in the USA that sets up their own "Common Law Grand Jurries".

They can send leters and put up a cheesy Wordpress blog, but it doesn't mean that they have any actual juristiction or enforcement capabilities.

Wow! So weird to see my blog posted here.... Yes, there are some gems uncovered... and some yet to be uncovered... The biggest problem is getting the agolytes to open their eyes and realize that there is more to this man and his agenda than just 'being a do-gooder'....The problem is that he peppers lies in with truths that can stand alone and brings shame to his movement and creates division between activists seeking to help their fellow man. stopkevinannett.wordpress.com...

Welcome to ATS, Heather, and thanks for the work on your blog in showing that Arnett is a nut who detracts from the real issues at hand. There is enough wrong in the Catholic Church (disclosure: I am Catholic) without making up stuff that steals attention (no matter how slight) from legitimate concerns.
