This is a political hot potato.

Those in uniform injured in the 911 attacks were awarded the Purple Heart. Why? According the Army regulation (AR 600-8-22, para 2-8,b,6) it has to be recognized as an international terrorist attack. That decision is made (in this case) by the Secretary of the Army.

What happened at Ft Hood will most likely never gain that classification. I will leave it to the ATS community to discuss the obvious as to why that is.

Who knows though? If this video gets enough attention, the Pentagon is seriously gun shy about bad press.

I'm just going to put this here. For comparison/contrast.

Cyber, drone operators now eligible for 'Distinguished Warfare' medal

How convenient, now that there is such a push for using drones.

But I will add that Obama isn't responsible for the legislation that makes this possible. Fingers should point at the MIC and the money people.

Unleash the Kraken...I mean the authentic outrage.

I just read about that, and I still don't understand why people shouldn't be outraged over both,

You have me convinced...just as long as the questions and outrage are directed at those responsible for implementing the bad decisions.
